>>Alright, I've mostly been lurking around here, but my Mini has been hanging out with yours for the last month.
>>
>>I see from the WW site that I was also released on 9/17. When I called AskMini today, they basically said they could not really tell me anything from this point forward -- call the dealer.
>>
>>How do you know you haven't been released from the VPC?? Owners lounge? That has been running way behind for me.
>>
>>Dealer in Philly says that they usually get deliveries at end of month. But I saw other guestimates of a week from arrival at port to delivery from dealer. That would make me a happy camper with a Wednesday delivery.
>>
>>Any way to track in more detail at this point?

Hi mj,
As far as I know, there really isn't a way to track our cars once it reaches the VPC. The lady on the phone says the computer will be updated once it is released to the carrier. However I am not sure if this is true or not. Ryan and Cooper4us, what was your experience?

My MA told me "we don't know; The trucks just show up and offloads the cars." So basically at this point, there is not much we can do but wait. Wednesday delivery certainly is possible.

(my response from page 33)
---> Katana (and anyone else on a ship, which is many ) My experience with the WW site and tracking is.....it sucks. It's about the same quickness and predictability as MINIUSA.com, which is slow, and not. It seems that some people's VIN's will never show up, and then one day they get a call from their MA saying their car's ready to be picked up Other people's VIN's get updated every two minutes for the entire duration of the shipping process, it's strange. Predictability gets even less once you guys hit the VPC/VDC. Nobody knows what's going on (especially ASKMINI)

OK, now that we clarified that this does not answer your question
The VPC is where the MINI's are checked for content, the mechanics go over the whole car to make sure it's assembled correctly, and then organized in big parking structures, and then eventually filed onto closed transports to your dealership. The process can take between a day and two weeks. The reason for the big delta? Who knows! It's mystery MINI voo-doo.

--->jmusicman: thanks for pointing out my Evil-twin, sometimes he sneaks out when he lacks sufficient MINI-fix

What great info to find when you've just got back from a tiring trip home. I just got back to FSU from home. I did take another test drive with my dad and my brother (the MINI sceptic) and I turned him. The poor thing had 54 miles on it. My bro took over and we went down some back road and he just about redlined it then slammed it into second and chriped the tires quite a few time. Me and dad were driving on the highways and were doing 100mph often. It's soo much fun, I cant wait.

Hmmmm...

So if it has sailed from Southampton then shouldnt my car be listed as loaded, or have they just not updated it yet, my car wasnt waitlisted either. I hope it isnt still siting on the docks.

i think yours is on the boat now, since is now on the wait list and the boat has sailed. otherwise it should say on wait list.

Is anyone know where i can find out where is TANABATA? ocean weather does not have any info for it.

Maybe i did some thing wrong?

Call sign is wcz5535 something like this.

You have the call sign right chris, at least that's what the USCG gave me. I thought the oceanweather site didnt have that feature anymore, but I went to MINI 2 and looked through their FAQ on deliveries and it said once you go there and you get to the map you click one of the areas, then above the map you click marine observations. It shows call signs for ships there, I dont think the TANABATA is listed yet because it just sailed, so maybe in a day or two when they report or whatever then it will pop up. Maybe they'll just skip New York .

regarding tracking your boat on oceanweather, I found that only certain WW boats show up. For example, neither Tokyo Highway nor Tosca showed up at all. However, Jingu Maru reported consistently all the way across the pond. Therefore, I would say it depends on the vessel; some report all the time, while others never report.

I've just spent a week in isolation backpacking on Isle Royale and came home the same day my MCS was due to arrive on the Jingu Maru. It should be sitting on US soil now!!

If my car was supposed to be loaded on the Tai Shan, should their website list me as loaded? I am still "received at terminal" according to them. Is anyone else listed on the Tai Shan that has different info?

I don't think the tai shan has sailed yet . I think they mean it has started this voyage(EQ326-TSH). when it has sailed then the next line should be in red, I think. Don't know for sure, maybe ryan can answer this Question. "Hold Da Boat, Hold Da Boat"

Hopefully my MINI is sitting in NY. There is still no update on the WW site though. It still shows "loaded on vessel" I hope not!!

I am crossing my fingers that I can pick up the MINI at the dealer next weekend!!

Hmmm...

It seems even though the TANABATA has sailed that my car, which was not wait listed, has not been updated as loaded on vessel, while other cars have, and cars that are wait listed are still shown as recieved at terminal. I might be starting to think I missed the boat some how.
