you guys don't wanna hear this, but it's important...
One of my fellow April Clubbers, JeremyPo, got his MCS dropped at the VPC, resulting in the car being completely destroyed. His dealership promptly offered him a front-of-the-line spot to re-order. I believe he finally took delivery of his "Phoenix" a month or so ago, with no drama this time. Jeremy's case was and is the only time I've heard of a problem with a MINI being damaged en-route. I suppose if they're gonna scratch it, they might as well total it

FINALLY!!!!! She's been completed and booked on the Tai Shan. The ship leaves the UK on 9/20 and arrives in NY on 9/28 (pending any further hurricanes). How long does it take to get from NY to Motor City Mini in Michigan?? Anybody have any info on that? Will I have her in time to drive to my local Best Buy and buy the DVD of The Italian Job when it comes out on October 7th???

---> DOKLB, no problem, did you look at your MINI on my website?

---> flangi, you have to call ASKMINI or your MA to get your latest production status, I don't have special superpowers  If you guys are interested, check out the Michigan MINI Motor Club. We are a non-dues "just get together and have fun" group.

Cheers,
Ryan

Ryan, you rock.

I am already a member of Michiganmini... I am MtnbikerBones.

As for delivery, I suppose I should just hold my breath and hope for good tail winds. I just want to motor a bit before the snow falls, otherwise, I am going to get her just in time to put her away for the winter.

Thanks!!!!!!!

(get here, get here, get here)

My MINI will be a year-round vehicle because it will be my only car. I'll be getting at least all-seasons for it (we don't have enough snow stay on the ground to warrant full snow tires, I think)

New Poll: Will your upcoming MINI be driven year-round?

I am not as concerned about the snow as I am the salt. You know here in Michigan they are FAR too liberal when it comes to salting. Now in northern Oakland they are actually trying "pre-salting" with brine to try and keep the ice from ever forming. I don't need that junk getting all over me. If it's just cold outside, that's what I got the heated seats for. Because, again, it is Michigan.

yes, Michigan is horrendous with oversalting the roads

Regardless the weather; Motor On!
(I also plan on a few healthy coats of Klasse AIO and Sealant to keep the paint protected over the winter.)

Yep, my MINI will be a year-rounder, and here in Wisconsin, they leave you wondering if there's actually any pavement under the salt....lol....guess it's the automatic car wash for me this winter, gotta love the undercarriage wash.

Well since we live in Florida it will be a year round COMMUTE CAR FOR MY DAD while Im at FSU 10months out of the year, when I'm home for breaks I'll be the only one enjoying it! No one else.

I'm gonna call tomorrow, after my class gets out at 11am, to chrisfb 1, Im a 19er too so I'll let you know what they said. I'm hoping I'll get on the TAISHAN or one of the other boats that gets here on the 1st 2nd or 3rd. Speaking of class, maybe I should go to sleep since I gotta get up at 8am.

Year round Michigan Mini driver, except for taking the dogs on walks or going to the vet. That's what my '95 Escort is for. It is starting to develop a nice patina of rust thanks to Michigan salt.

Hubby is drinkin his coffee so I get stuck doin the typin. Our new baby will be winter car -- put over 12 k on the bike in warm weather but only drive it down to about 12 degrees or the roads ice over. Ohio weather!!! (hope to put more on when he finally retires in a few years) But, if the mini is TOO much fun to drive, that could change -- give old Scarlet (bike) a much-deserved rest. So, bike and mini are only vehicles.
Um, not to be nosy ( ) but Thril ---- not da auto car wash ---- PUHLEASE -- especially in winter --- all kinda crud gets caught in those brushes and stuff!!
Oh well, don't mean to be critical, just offerin our 2 cents and hopin not to offend. Guess we're just gettin cranky from waitin. Been at 150 since Friday BEFORE last friday!! Gotta wait till 9 to call to see if she's moved on down the line (hope hope hope) By the way, hubby and I will be takin our giant fans out to the middle of the ocean this afternoon and start blowin toward that danged hurricane (gotta keep it away from the coast so's the nice folks can get their cars delivered) Anyone wanna come along?
