I would leave as is, I think it looks great!

Does anybody know if these can be programmed to keep the full ring lit when the parking lights are turned on (instead of just the top quarter)?

I have some questions for those that have done this by removing the headlights. What is the advantage to going this route? I see you gain access to the top mounting screw but it seems there is still some disassembly of the lower valance required. Can someone outline the steps to doing the install this way?

Wish I could. My mechanic did it. I know he didn't remove the valance. He removed headlights, and also front wheels to access bolts through the pop out cover.

I would think the main advantage would be quicker install time of the LED fogs

Boy what and adventure that was! A great big thanks to Cerenkov for his instructions back in post #395 plus the extra help via PM. I did the install with the headlights removed and the only real pain in the *** was fiddling with the control box and those ridiculous zip ties. I couldn't get a satisfactory install there so I have the control box just stuffed in there at the moment. I opted to remove the wiper arms and the plastic cover which made dealing with the rubber bulkhead plug a breeze. Stuffing the wire through was a matter of taping the blue wire to a length of 14G solid copper wire and a little silicone spray to get it to slip right through.

I have tested the lights and they work great. I will go back into the engine compartment tomorrow and add the double sided adhesive and some rubber bumpers to the other side to help wedge it to between the fusebox and the body. All thats left after that is to adjust the fogs. Best $385 I have spent on my Mini so far

Here you go Greg from post 424:

Simply find a large open level area at night and adjust them so the reach out a bit shorter than the headlights. Remember they're used to illuminate the road below the fog." A good thread on this is by Roger Sitterly of the Central Iowa Mini Club (http://www.centraliowaminiclub.org/?s=fog).

New DRL's

FYI for those looking to purchase these running lights; They are also available from a US supplier, Outmotoring, in TN, I believe...
Here they are priced at $498.95... http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-halo...light-kit.html
I may have to invest in them for my 13 Clubman S...:-)

O-KAY!

This afternoon and tonight, I've slogged through this entire thread, and a five page one somewhere else on the board.

I think SG might actually be my neighbor...and I'm in NC.

He's 100% right, these are crazy bright. They don't photograph worth a hoot. I really like the look, but have some misgivings about the brightness. I'm pretty mechanically skilled, but with the lack of R60 pics, I'm leaning dealer install.

Right now, though, I'm leaning toward sleep! Thanks for all the contributions!

Sorry, I didn't get it. They are a bit too bright, but it is nice to be unique

Just saw this post, here's my video of the installation.

Hope it gives you an idea of what it took. Did this myself. The service tech at MINI of Mt Laurel said they could do it without removing the bumper and going up through the wheel well but I did it the recommended way.

Thanks for the insight slash, appreciate it

Can you clarify this statement? What is not allowed? These DRLs?

lol... group buy offers or really any "advertising" for non-sponsor vendors I guess. For example, you probably cannot say I got Product X from ABC Co. for $20 less than NAM Sponsor.

Finally got some pics of my ride with the DRLs installed. Its weird not having any mods I want to make. I feel like the car is perfect now. Guess I'd better go sell it, haha.

Looks awesome stash!!
I have a 2013 JCW, and the only mods I have done are the DRLs, nm short shift kit and rear sway bar. It's perfect for me now!

They look great, I have sold three sets this week. We have them for 406.65 shipped.http://www.theminipartstore.com/oemp...122338554.html

They do not require coding according to the Mini PDF.
