Waved at least a dozen times at MINIs today, only got one wave in response. One elderly lady looked like she wanted to kill me.

 

where in MD are you JDPaddle? what color MINI do you own?

if you ever see me, i'll def wave back. i have a red bow in the upper left corner of my windshield. i've been so skeptical as to whether or not i should wave b/c so many owners in the columbia/elkridge area don't wave at allllllll or give a really funny look.

 

Do we have a modded MINI/MCS snob here or just somebody who doesn't want to waste a wave with little chance of a return?

Ever since I got my Mini a little over a month ago, I keep trying to wave at other Mini's, but so far either they don't look my way or I'm not in a position (like mid turn) to look or wave. Yet my bf borrowed my Mini the other day for a quick errand and got a mutual wave.

 

Saw 3 minis today, waved at all 3 and nothing in return. :(

 

This is exactly what we need for this thread!

An R53 parked next to me at the Wawa in Woodstown, NJ around 5:30 yesterday morning. The driver, still sitting in his car, completely ignored me as I walked back to mine (I waved). After I had gotten in my car and started it, he got out and just walked away, like he hadn't seen a thing.

I hate to be the master of the obvious, but since you were stilling still, perhaps he thought you were trying to pick him up.

 

While waiting at a red light got a thumbs up from this lady in her red MINI Clubman, yesterday. Threw her a peace sign. Awesome!

 

Hopefully, she was not injured.

 

Many MINI owners may not be aware of the "wave" tradition. We have the same issue with the O-H-I-O greeting. When encountering another OSU fan, Ohio State alumni, parents, fans, etc. traditionally say "O-H". The other person is supposed to reply "I-O". When I see someone sporting OSU apparel, I'm often cautious to say "O-H" and have them look at me like I'm crazy. Happens to my OSU graduate daughter all the time. My oldest daughter has no issue whenever she says "Roll Tide" to another Bama fan.

 

Encountered a young woman with the exact twin of my car 3 blocks from my house this morning and got no reply to my wave :-(

 

Saw a lot of MINI's today....2 cabs, 3 clubmen, 4 Hardtops, waved to all, got none back...

 

Help us change that.

 

I finally got a wave out of a Indie Blue R53 that I see every morning on the way to classes, also got a wave from a lady in a Chili R52.

 

Two more down and hundreds to go. Keep up the good work. We know you won't forget to wave.

 

I was just about to wave to one and I saw he was doing the steering wheel wave! I waved out the window just to make sure he saw me I had waved to one earlirer that I had passed on 55 but sadly no wave back. 1 out of 2's not bad!

 

Please lets remember we are all MINIacs and have a love for MINI's and our WAVE. IF you don't get a wave back, don't let it cause you to forget who you are. We MINIacs will just keep trying.

Until my Roadster arrives, I can't wave. But I'll be thinking 'MINI wave' until then. When I get John Bull on the road, I'll wave like a movie star on a parade float whenever I see a MINI.

 

I wave but I get very few in return. Now when Im in my wifes Jeep I would say 80% of other Jeeps wave and the same goes for when Im in my Vette. Mini owners need to step it up.

 

 

 

I see we've moved on to no hands now.

 

I think you can at least start practicing.
