Do Mini people still wave at each other??
Yep I dont wave but I just drive next to a MINI next to me or when I see one give them a peace sign. I also do that to the EURO cars. But the one's that dont say hi or anything Ive noticed are not enthusiasts or soccermoms or old folks.
I have only had maybe 3 others wave but I keep trying. Yesterday I was on my way home from work and a Mini with 3 young ladies drove by me and very enthusiatically waved. That always makes me feel good!
seattle > socal
so i go to school in seattle and have my mini up there with me and nearly every fellow MINIac will return. socal on the other hand has changed for the worse... i used to get waves all the time, same with my mom when she drove my MINI but this year is different, i havent received a single wave back from any MINI drivers. they're either on the phone (which they shouldnt be) or not paying attention. i am like 0 - 30 (and counting) wheres the love?
Hey! I drive a horizon blue Clubman! You don't motor in Maryland, do you?!
I almost want to give it up. Most of the people I see driving them are old enough to be great grandparents and they could care less. Then there's the 40 year-old lookin stuck-up women who seems they are too good for you to wave back. I guess that's California for ya!
Got a thumbs up from a nice convertible Mini omw into the city last night. There is still hope!!!
Keep waving....
I live in Berks County PA. Not the friendliest place on earth. However, most MINI drivers still wave, and some are very enthusiastic! But - having said that, I notice I dont get as many waves in my CM as i did in my cooper. I think that the profile as it approaches is too large to be recognized as MINI, and its not till they are almost past me they see me as a MINI. So, I'm gonna keep waving.
I do get waves from the two other CM's I see in Berks. One is red with black top, and the other is all white with blue stripes. Very nice looking cars.

i used to have the brotherhood feeling with the mini but its died down a bunch. i used to see MINIs every now and then, so it was special when we waved to each other. now every other small car on the road you see is a MINI (in socal) and these new drivers dont have the same love and mini camaraderie as the OGs.
3 waves/thumbs ups given
0 given back :(
I rode next to one guy this morning long enough not to be just traffic, sorta like and uncomfortably long handshake that you dont know when to pull away from lol and the dude refused to even look over to see why there would be a car, let alone a mini next to him. so i lingered a bit longer just for fun!! come on non wavers out there, loosen up!! life's too short not to say hi and be happy!!

I am selling my 2003 S .( bought a 2010 JCW) When I find the buyer for it I am going to tell them they are not "just buying any car". You are buying in to a lifestyle, so if you see another MINI wave and if they wave first wave back. So if you find yourself selling your MINI I hope you tell the buyers the same.
We wave or flash our lights. I waved at other British car drivers when I had my MGB in college. Same when I rode a motorcycle. Fer cryin' out loud, Harley riders are even waving at Japanese bikes. I've come to the conclusion that those who don't wave back are distracted at best and not the kind we want to sit down for a beer with. Some BMW drivers even see the car coming and wave back. Mini drivers who don't wave back are probably left alone.
So...disappointing turn out yesterday. I was driving out to East Hampton for the day and I must have seen at LEAST 20 Mini's. I only got 1 wave
, and I think it only got forced out of 'em because I waved and then my fiance leaned over out my window and waved frantically also (She understands my frustration and is trying to help
) so i got a little hand raise from them.

zKryT, sounds like you have a great fiance'. We thought we had the only Blackeye Purple and white Mini in Wichita, then we saw one facing us at a stoplight. When the light changed, I honked and the Mother and daughter in the other Mini saw us. Their faces lit up and they went a little crazy. We could see them pointing, bouncing up and down and talking, and of course waving. Nice to see folks enjoying their Minis.
