I finally got a response back. Although it was more of a "what the heck are you waving at me for" but at least it wasnt a middle finger. So i'll count that as an "almost"

Got an awesome waveback today from a grey (?) MCS with gold rims. We mutually gave each other the lowkey two finger peace wave...awesome, made my day!

First day in my new 13' Chile Red S and got a wave from a young lady in a Countryman. I think waving has something to do with how clean your Mini is that day....lol

Has anyone tried the instead of waving. I wonder if it is a little more explicit to strangers.

There's definitely truth to this:

I'll stick to waving, it's a universally friendly gesture. In some eastern european cultures, means "Up Yours".

Waved at five MINIs over the weekend, including a couple headlight flashes: no returns.

Drove 160 miles a day for both days this weekend in my R50... saw two other Mini's on the interstate and got ignored by both of them... oh well.

its not mini wave back per se, but this weekend I was sitting at a light and looked over to see a huge grin on the faces of the couple in the minivan next to me. They rolled their windows down and said "we LOVE your Mini it is SO cool!" - the lady had a british accent, so I think she was excited to see my black-jacks on the side view mirrors!. And the guy in the passenger seat sat there with a huge grin and a big thumbs up!

I live in a rural/factory area of Southern Indiana, living in one county and working in another. I've only had my mini for about a week now, but since I've been wanting one for so long, I've grown to to know all the mini's in my area (all 5 of them). As soon as I got mine, I did start waving as I passed the others. After a week, I'm waving to all but 1 out of the 5.

Has anyone used the Mini Link app and gotten waves? I installed it on my phone over the weekend, but so far the closest Mini on the app is about an hour and a half away.

It's called Mini Link and I only saw a version for the Iphone. There are a few other apps for both IOS and Andriod. You can find them on Mini's site, owners, mobile apps (or the link below)

Another one! Two in one week, you never know. I went about a year without one, and poof! two, a few days apart.

Oh I saw that but . . . well, it sucks being an android owner at this very moment - Come-on BMW! I know Apple is cool but that doesn't mean you can't give some love to your Android customers

honestly, if I didn't have a company issued iphone, I'd have an android based phone. As an IT geek by profession, I like toys I can modify.
