Spotted a red MINI Clubman on I-70 in Indiana Thursday evening. They waved from the other side.

That's the hard way to get a wave! Either quite a distance across grassy medians, or fast approaching at close range--either way, it's uncommon.

I got my first Mini in the fall. I learned quick that waving at other Mini's was a thing. I wave when I can and get a wave back almost every time. Its a simple thing and it cheers up the day a little bit!

It really depends on the area. Some places are just more prone to be nicer.

I know what you mean. That's pretty much the mentality here in Alaska anyway. I've lived here almost my entire life (36 yrs) so it's to be expected. Sad, but true.

After months and months of getting the cold shoulder from other MINI owners I got a wave yesterday! It was from a BRG hardtop! If you're from Eastern Iowa and you waved at a Laser Blue MINI with weird stripes, thank you!

I got a "beep beep" last night from another Clubbie in Oakland, first time ever and they beeped first, pretty cool!

Mini Owners Wave?

I am on my third Mini - first was a 03 Cooper - then a 09 Clubman - and now a Countryman All4 S.
Based in CT with a lot of New England covered traversed as well as multiple trips to Va.
I am a steadfast waver and flash the lights - noticing that fewer and fewer folks are returning the wave

A tad depressing
In spite of the diminishing returns I will continue to reach out.

Will be making a run to FL first of May - hope to get some waves out there

I had a couple of Jeep Wranglers before getting my Mini. Jeep owners seem to have the "wave" code perfected.

Nothing has changed for me in 4 year of ownership, I average about 50% return waves on every trip to town.

I stopped trying to physically wave. Most people don't turn their head to notice I'm there. So now....I honk! Two short "beep beeps" and that's it. I've gotten two return "beep beeps". So either they are return wave-beeps or they think I'm being an a-hole and honking back at me because they're mad. Lol

Oh well.....at least I'm getting a response!

I find it odd that Alaska and the Hamptons have something in common.

I've got a wave back a few days ago. It made my day... So we have a R59 and of course it's easy to wave and be seen when the top is down. So we drove down the street near our place, and with this nice warm sun shining through the trees not yet in bloom, and I see this R57 coming on opposite traffic, also top down! I think to my self, perfect for a wave attack
Has it gets closer and closer fast I start waving with a smile on my face. It's a nice lady driving and though I seem to have caught her by surprise she wave back. Such a good mood in the air just made my day

Had to leave our MINI in the shop for an overnighter and got a rental for the trip home. They put me in a Jeep doodad (never again!). Danged if I didn't get a Jeep wave. Totally humiliating. MINIs always get a wave.

I have owned a Wrangler and drivers always waved, but I didn't see one at almost every intersection like MINI's in our metro.

Keep the faith. Be loyal. We have to keep the wave going as part of our original culture.

I'll second that, mini coop and I couldn't agree more. Keep the MINI wave alive.

FINALLY in a city slowly filling with Mini's I got a beep and a wave. Alas I eventually found out that it was for my Keep Calm and Chive On vinyl....

Sigh.

Why are you concerned with the right rear? The pic is of the left rear.
