No!

I grew tired of waving -- nobody waved back. But then one day this good looking blonde pulled up beside me in a parking lot and stopped. She rolled down her window and I did the same. We chatted a bit car to car until I found out we were on opposite sides of the political fence. I knew it was only a matter of time before she found out where I stood. People on her side think people on my side are ogres who don't care about people. I bade her goodbye after a bit and drove away. A real pity ... she was cute too.

On the very rare occasion I see another Mini around here I'm usually too surprised to wave. I do try though.

Nothing like a good looking blonde to make a man question his thinking

It's weird, when I'm driving my MINI I might see one or two other MINIs.
But when I'm driving my beater Ford pick up, I see dozens of MINIs and I can't do the MINI wave!

I try to! Usually I don't notice Mimi's in on coming traffic until they are right at me. Then I'm sure they just think I'm insane because I'm trying to wave quickly.

After almost 9 years and over 120,000 miles, I am happy to say MINIs drivers got waves every day. Some don't respond (might be borrowing a friends car) but the ones with the giant excitement really make it worth the effort! Motor on.

I don't let the wave be all there is.
If I do get the drop on another MINI, I make an extra effort first to get their attention.
I pop the headlights a few times or tap the unmistakable horn a few.
If successful, they look around and then I wave LARGELY !
If I don't get their attention, I will still wave on the off chance they happen to spy me at the last minute.
So be on the lookout around Shorewood, Plainfield, and Naperville.
The wife and I both run Rt. 59 in our MINI's daily!

Rt. 59? It would take me twice as long to get to work that way. Hope to see you Naperville/Plainfield Road.

Y'all ought to move to Arkansas! I see MINIs all the time, and they almost always wave. (The driver, that is, not the car.) The few times I don't see a wave, it's possible windshield glare just hid it...

Wave - Unicorns

I'll wave. Fun to be asked. I am normally driving around in my wife's Mini on weekends with my daughter. Three can't seem to fit into my Coupe.

Well, she designed Unicorns on the side. Actually they are Alicorns so I am told all along the side of the Countryman.

Yes, they wave and look with their mouth open.

Fun to park as kids go crazy about the design. Takes a real man to drive a car with Alicorns on both sides spanning both doors!

The looks I get are priceless.

I have found that waving is inversely proportional to distance I am from the nearest MINI dealer

I have only had my Mini about two months and I give a wave to other Minis all the time and they almost always wave back. I pass this older couple every morning on my commute to school and she gives a big smile and very enthusiastic wave each time. Its just the right thing to do.

Here in NY, Not too many waves - really none I can recall. Maybe other "Mini" drivers don't recognize my Coupe as a Mini? I think it looks like a Mini from the front at least. I thought I would get more waves. I'm constantly getting waves in my 04' Jeep TJ

Wave? Here in da greater Noo Yawk area? Fuggedaboudit! I bought Jeeves in August and I ain't gotten a wave in response or initiated by anodder Mini driver yet.

Da problem, or so I 'tink, is dat Noo Yawkuhs (and I tawk as a life-long area resident [OK, from age one anyway] 65 years, and all da years I woiked in Manhattan) always have der guard up and feel dat any approach by a stranguh could be potentially confrontational. So, a Mini driver receiving a wave from anodder Mini driver around here probably 'tinks, "Who's dat nut and why is he waving at me?" You would 'tink dat da site of da initial waver in a Mini would ring a bell in da wave recipient, but it hasn't happened to me yet.

Da funny 'ting is dat Noo Yawkuhs are really basically peace-loving, live-and-let-live people. What's dat? You doubt me? Well, come on outside; I got a breaker bar dat I wanna introduce to yur skull!

Haha. I cant speak for New York but I play in DC every now and again and those people would push your car out of the way of you were slow off a light. There's some aggression in cities.

I live in the foothills of the Sierra. When I bought my Mini in 2007, I would wave on the rare occasions when I saw another Mini, and usually got a wave back. Now Mini's are everywhere. There are 4 on my block alone. I still wave but rarely get a wave back. I usually just mutter "snob" but I keep waving as it always makes me happy when I get a wave back.

I wave and usually get a wave back. With my Rav 4x4 out on the corny gravel roads, everyone waves. It's a country thing. :>)

Snob is the nicer version of what I say. the wave is one of those wow factors of the vehicle. Camry's don't wave to eachother. Shoot, not even bmw drivers wave at one another. Do fiats wave to one another?

Ha ha! I used to have an '86 Dodge Colt Station wagon. Since Nobody else ever had one, I got no waves. Most would probably not admit it either. Glad it's now a toaster or something now.... Beemer's...too stuck up. Mini drivers have more fun! I get waves all the time. Even when she's dirty! Right now! ugh. I hate the snow...

Not sure about that. I do know that the new Fiats are confusing my 6 year old Grandson with his "punch bug" game. Had to stop at a car lot to prove that they were not VW's. I get beat on a lot less now because he's not sure.
Corvettes wave at each other.

Funny! We called it "slug bug". Ha ha ha! Now with my 17 year old son, the punches actually hurt!
