Do Mini people still wave at each other??
I never get waves either. I'll wave if I see you.
I wanted to go to that, got the mini that Monday and found out about mini on the Mack Wednesday but my wife had a friend in town from out of state.
On my vacation in upstate NY, I've seen a lot of MINIs and given a lot of waves; I've gotten back maybe three, however...
A couple days ago in Schroon Lake, NY, I just happened to park behind a 2006 Justa from Wisconsin -- not on purpose, but simply because it was parked in front of the restaurant that we were going to. The driver, named Barry, got out and we talked for at least 20 minutes. He had just participated in MINIs on the Mack a few days ago, then drove from there to NY.
And yet, I've parked next to another Justa from NJ a few times at the beach in the same town and never seen the driver.

I was stuck in a Kia for the last year and really missed that wave! I am driving a loaner from my dealer until my new one gets here (hopefully next week) and have been waving every since! It's good to be back!
woot woot!!! go go mini cheeseheads!!!! though i passed 2 last night and not sure of a wave...granted this was a 4 lane highway with a good gap between
MINI people wave....
But not everyone driving a MINI is a MINI person. Unlike almost everyone on this forum, some buy these great cars just because they get good MPG, they're safe or are easy to get around a city in.
But I think most of us MINI people still wave; I do.

I did the Jeep wave to everybody, then took my Jeep off the road because I couldn't afford the upkeep and mpg anymore (now it's the weekend project :D). I started to miss the wave, then got one from a guy in a red MINI on my way home from a little ice cream date with my girlfriend. I thought it was pretty sweet, but it didn't register to me to wave back till he was already behind me. I kinda felt bad but I have a feeling I'll see him again. It wasn't too far from my house. Now that I've had my MINI for a few weeks now I'm seeing them more often. And I'm also glad I still get stares from pedestrians like I did in my Jeep
Welcome! I can't help but notice your screen name. I had a 1969 2002ti for many years. Loved that car. Might still have it had a drunk not destroyed it. My R55 reminds me of that car very much... and they have almost the exact same dimensions!
so i have been starting to think i will never run into a modified mini like mine in everyday life coincidentally. Yesterday I ran into a lowered red mini with rims and alta sticker in a parking lot. it had just been washed and still wet. i wondered... do i wait here kind of creeper like and try and talk to this person or just take a picture of our cars and go on with my day. then i saw a carwash at the end of the parking lot and decided to wash my dirty cooper and then wait for him. right when i was about to put in my tokens i saw him getting into his mini. i hurried and drove all the way across the parking lot and managed to park next to him before he pulled off. he looked at me and started to back up like i was an every day car. i backed out and honked at him and waved... nothing. i followed him to the end of the parking lot and honked AGAIN... nothing.... all i have to say is.... WHAT?????

Last Saturday, I saw a car coming toward me some distance ahead and it appeared that either the driver was flashing the headlights or going over some bumps in the road. I couldn't tell what kind of car it was but as I got closer he/she turned left. Lo and behold, it was a PW Roadster almost identical to mine. I waved, but it was probably too late for him/her to see me. If the driver actually saw me and was flashing the headlights at me, he/she has better eyesight than I do.

My wife and I saw and waved at 87 mini's of various kinds on a recent weekend trip to Santa Cruz and back to LA................not one single wave back and some where close up too. Mini culture has changed. There were a lot more waves the first 5 years of driving a Mini, now the amount of wavers has dwindled down to almost none over the last 3 years or so. Oh well, I still wave.
Not really a MINI related wave but on my way home this morning I got my first sighting of the C7 corvette. Gave the guy a
and he waved back, really boosted my morale, plus I saw a convoy of Ferrari's.....god I love Monterey.
Had a great experience in my loaner! Left a gas station and saw a Gen1 Convertible go past me. Caught up with them and right before they turned off, they waved out of the top of the open roof to me! Flashed lights and waved like crazy!
Oh, and just picked up my 2014 R60 'S' on Tuesday, so I'm officially back in the club!

I guess Arkansas folks are just plain friendlier--I rarely fail to get a wave. And some of those might have waved but it was just too hard to see it through reflections on their windshield. I see MINIs all the time.
Surprisingly, I see a lot of Fiat 500s, too, even an Abarth now and then.
Must be our wonderful twisties bringing 'em in.
