Do Mini people still wave at each other??
I've been on a road trip for 2,000 miles in my cooper, waved 10 times, got 3 returns. One of which, from a woman outside Louisville with viper stripes on a cooper, was really enthusiastic, and was followed by some in-lane weaving, which certainly helped entertain us in that rush hour traffic.
I tried this morning...waved..no response. The woman driving next to me saw me wave and then would not make any eye contact after that. I must have scared her..or reminded her of someone she owes money to...
After 2.5 months of unreturned waves, I climbed out of my car and saw a countryman getting ready to pull away. Smiled and gave a quick wave and was ecstatic to get a big smile and wave from the lady driving. YaY!
I've had 3 un-returned waves in the past week. The latest one was today, when a young guy in an R53 coming toward me across a small intersection barely glanced at me and drove right by.
He was so close and we were going so slowly that I almost could have reached out of the window and given him a head slap.

I just got back from my rod trip from Fort Lauderdale to Key West Florida and I saw soo many MINIs! Which I was planning on waving to but we were all driving so fast plus I wasn't in a MINI. But none the less very excited to see so many unlike here in NY there aren't much and I've only gotten two waves back in the year that I've owned my MINI :(.
As for the question I'm a girl (mid 20's) and obviously a fan and wave but not as much anymore because of all the turn downs so now I look at the driver and if they give me a glimpse of happiness I will wave. I received a wave from a couple who were in there 70's and another driver behind tinted windows I couldn't tell of what age or sex.
Also I waved before I even began modding my car which isn't at all that modded compared to most

I wave at other MINI drivers in the Austin, TX, area, but not all return the gesture. With all the electronic gadgetry & multitasking to contend with, some drivers are just preoccupied to notice and respond. Keep waving, I'll wave back!
this is awesome
I was making trip from Harrisburg PA to Philadelphia PA and in the distance I seen a figure that looked like a mini... a red MINI Convertible.... got a little closer and the S badge appeared... and then the JCW badge on it :D. got closer and closer until i was just about to pass and i looked over and saw a blonde chick on the phone and was bummed. so i went about my business. i was sitting in the right lane when i saw the same JCW come up and chick was enthusiastically waving at me across the car over the passenger seat, this made my day. she seen that i was also in a red MINI JCW(Hardtop). then we both got up to speed on the empty highway and cruise together for about 10 miles or so. Best mini moment so far. It helps me remember that even that most enthusiastic mini owners miss a mini or two now and then.
Just a few months short of 12 years driving a MINI. When I ordered mine I waited 90 some odd days for a just a Cooper. I still wave but never look for a wave back. Sometimes I get one and sometimes not. It is kinda like waiting for a MINI all over again. Tic Tock
As Jimmy would say about Gumbo and Sex
Motor Happy everyone.

I waved at three different mini's over the past week......not one of them waved back. So then i'm cruising down the freeway look over and a guy in a GTI waves at me....go figure.
