Do Mini people still wave at each other??
I know it's a big metro area but describe your ride and I'll look for you. I'm in Lake Saint Louis and work in Overland. Have you joined or thought about joining the St. Louis MINI Club? www.stlmini.com
Nice Pic!! I'll keep an eye for you as well. I actually joined the STL MINI club about a month ago. I have not made an event yet but hope to this month.
Tiny is a R56 CR/W. No mods so you'll just have to wave at all of us!!!
Since I last posted on this thread, I've made more attempts at waving to other MINI owners. I haven't kept a firm count but today alone I've been blanked 4 different times, including pulling right up next to a justa looking me over at a traffic light. I'd get more of a response giving the one fingered salute.

I was driving my semi-ancient Subaru today and waved at a MINI owner. You'd have thought I was her long, lost brother!
When I running late to work I see a silver coupe at the traffic light. She always waves.
And when I'm leaving work early I'll see a blue coupe across the interstate. He always throws up a hand. I drive about 40 miles each way to work.
Some pretty polite Mini owners here in Ohio
What a great drive the past few weeks with the top down and cruising from work. Let the openometer spin.
I've had my R57 almost 4 months and just turned 8500 miles.

Hmm ive had minis that wave an minis that ignore one spotted me on head on at a stoplight driving by and waved. Another in a walmart parkinglot then another at a 4 stop sign both waved. However there are two r53s that always drive by my house and i end up next too in traffic they are fairly modifyed and they never even notice mine? Even when im behind them. I guess not everyone knows what they have or cares really. My niebor 6 houses down has a mini r56 s and never waves or anything.
I had a good return wave from a couple people last weekend, a guy driving down County Road 1 here in Longmont CO, he stuck out as he was wearing a huge Cowboy hat and waved back to my crazy waving, and then a first, after I got on i25 going south I waved to a Countryman going north and the guy saw me and waved back! There will be lots of us waving to each other this Sunday in Denver as Schomp MINI will be doing a video shoot for the Peoples Fair.
A lot of people here in Mordor are, indeed, buttheads.
I wave when I've got a hand free. Watch out for the green MINI with the bonnet vents and lightning-bolt rally stripes....
C ya,

Keep waving and smiling, it is contagious!
Saw this little guy this AM just after leaving class.......pulled up beside him, rolled my window down & gave him a
Oh well, he seemed pumped that someone showed interest in his Mini. I do not know what kind of cars the other two were. Can anyone tell?
Wonder where they were going?
Ive found the waves here...seems like they wave and give the honk honk type thing.. When it first happened it caught me off guard.. But then I quickly returned with the same.. Now it seems that anyone that owns a MINI honk and wave here at each other.. Which is very cool
One in the middle looks like an MGB GT, and the leader could be a Midget.
There is a CR/W with Union Jack mirror caps in Lake Saint Louis that I've traded waves with. I'm not going to be able to make the Fast Eddies event this month but I plan to be at the scavenger hunt in June.
I have waved at about ten different MINIs in the chattanooga tn area over the past 3 or 4 days. Only about 4 of em waved back ......and one of them waved before i got a chance....
I think the problem is you can put anybody in a MINI but not everybody has MINI in them.
That and being friendly is a rarity these days.
Oh well happy motoring everybody!!!!!

Today on my way to work a lady in a Mini was driving behind me for a while. when I stopped at a red light she was right behind me and I looked in the rear view mirror and waved. She smiled and gave a wave back! Made me feel good, glad I waved.
I have a friend who has a Mini and he told me he doesn't wave unless the other person waves first. :-( I tried to explain, be he sees it as a hollow greeting because he feels obligated because of the car he drives....
