I took some measurements last night. Granted, this is not my strength but I'm definitely clear from the center line out to the outer edge of the caliper. I also have over 2" from the surface of the hub out to the inside of my spokes. The hats also push the wheel .26" out - the only issue I saw were some outer wheel weights that may need to be moved...

drewstermalloy (don't see him around much, he may have sold his JCW) had a set of Imola's with a JCW BBK under them. I think the JCW brakes are larger than the Wilwoods? I also thought I heard somewhere in my MINI travels that a JCW BBK will not work with any OEM 16" wheel. So given those two things, plus my amateur measurements, I think I'm good.

I did reach out to Todd - we'll see what he says.

both the upper and lower bulbs of my right tail light went out in the past couple days. just noticed it was dead last night leaving work, so I took one bulb out of the left and put one it in the right so at least I was legal. Will be bulb shopping in the morning.

It really is nice, seems to make the shift action feel more precise (shouldn't, I know, but it just feels snick).

And yes, I've always hated the sputnik-**** that came on the car.

What a day!

Woke up at 5am to find that it was already snowing! Oh well...didn't let that stop me. Took a drive down to Philly to get some stuff done at Helix! (They're great btw)

Finally...got the walnut shell service done. Also, had my exhaust looked at and slightly "bumped" back into place. Damn NYC streets! After that, I had them install a Rennline skid plate. Hopefully that will at least get me through the remainder of the winter season without destroying the underside of my MINI.

And drum roll.....I got to try out my new stage 2 tune from Battle Tuning (DNA). OMG My face hurts I was smiling so much. Not only is there more power, but with the linear tune, it's always there. Plus, it makes my exhaust sound really MEAN! You know your car sounds amazing when you get a thumbs up from several motorists.

Dang it! It's awesome out in Lincoln today. 66 degrees! I went for a lunch-time cruise. Saw absolutely ZERO MINI's out. What's up with that?? Blue Meanie is all cleaned off of road salt and stylin and ready to wave. Nuthin.

Your MINI is spotless and mine is dirtier than ever. Lmao

(And it's probably going to stay that way until I can find a hand wash place that's open in 30 and 40 degree weather)

Aww schucks...thanks!

I'm in NYC! But for the record, today it was the New Jersey Turnpike that destroyed my MINI's wonderful pepper white glow

BTW: Don't go to Jet Splash. Only 3/4th clean. Still had to hand wash the back and windows! What a rip off. They didn't give a rip either. Won't go again. I pointed it out to the kids who are supposed to care for the "holidays" the cattle drive didn't do on the way out. Nope! I know know why I do it myself. I had a gift card for VD! whatever....

I'm pumped to get my DNA tune! I just got the unit today I'm patiently waiting for the new Helix FMIC to be developed and process. Once I get that installed, I'll bump up to a stage 3 tune

I think every automated wash misses out on the spots we MINI HB owners need cleaned the most...the boot! I guess it's just the shape of our cars. I pointed it out also and got blank stares.

....a gift card for VD! Yikes

(Oh you meant valentine's day )

If you have a garage, just go the waterless car wash route. I tried the no rinse wash & shine with the two bucket wash. My car is so clean, I need to wear sunglasses in the garage.

Washed the car for the first time in a few months, due to the St. Louis cold/snow spell I didn't want to wash it just to have it get dirty again the next day! Today was the first above 50 degrees and I had to take advantage.

Then, I decided to test out the GoPro suction cup to make a short video of the fJCW exhaust!

For anybody that's interested...

It starts out slow but there's a few short accelerations...everytime I get on the throttle it makes me smile.

Decided to grow a pair and tackle the hotchkis RSB install myself. Taking a hiatus for the night while I look up torque specifications for all the bolts. Will button everything up tomorrow...but the hard part is over. old bar out, new bar in.

What I did to get that sub frame back up: Motorcycle lift and some Longboard wheels (to make up the height needed). Bolted back up easy peasy.

Dropped it off at the dealer, got my thermostat replaced, Turbo oil line heat shield installed, and the front brake pads and rotors changed. Best part, it was free! Unfortunately, the calipers are now hitting the bolts in my wheels because of the extra width of the caliper :( had to put the stock wheels back on

Freshened up the ignition system with MSD coil, MSD wires and new NGK BRK7EQUP spark plugs. She purrs like a kitten and runs like a cheetah.
