Put on a set of Continental Extreme DW tires. Turn in's a bit slower but boy is it smoother!!!
The third pic is a nickel in the center groove of my OE runflats. Can you say well used withing the 2 years of having the car from new?! They gripped great though.

Well used? It's not even *close* to smooth!

I have the Conti Extreme DWs also (205/50-16), and love 'em. Way better than the last set of S-Drives. Never had the run-flats on mine, as a/the previous owner had switched to Michelin Pilots (195/55-16) before I bought the car.

Installed a new JCW front strut brace. I was a little skeptical about it's real worth (did it more for the bling) until I took it for a drive. Usually I can't tell if an upgrade makes a difference; usually too subtle. But this brace really made a difference. I didn't like the amount of torque steer I had before; but now it is all but gone and the chassis feels tighter. Shiny and adds real world performance. Happy me

If you do ever get adjustable coilovers, the JCW strut will have to go though....just fyi. It'll get in the way of the adjustment ***** for dampening...

over the weekend i spent hours washing, waxing, and detailing my mini!
then it rained for 14 hours straight the very next day :(

on the plus side, I used some Turtle wax brand "Trim Restorer", and it made my crappy old worn out looking arches, trim, and rear view mirror plastic New looking!

on the down side, 14 straight hours of rain washed off at least half the gel :(
suppose I will have to re-apply now...

oh, and i vinyl blacked out the wheel arch lights i think it looks great, makes the car look a little meaner, and keeps the arch lines nicely

Any chance you could come to Phoenix and wash your car?

The original fronts that were on the back, had NO corner tread left! I could spin them as soon as they were off centre and boost kicked in.
Did the DW's take a while to break in and feel firm? Mine feel a lil....wallowy in turns. With the runflats, the ride was a bit harsh, but the cornering feel was impressive!! I could feel exactly what the car was doing through the turn. With these I feel like I'm guessing. I'll give'em their break in period to start judging. Or inflate them a bit more.

They do seem to like a couple extra PSI. I had read that in reviews of them, and found it to be pretty accurate. I'm running 38 PSI up front, and 31 PSI in the back, though I may bump them up a few PSI as well.

HTH!

Good to know. Thanks. I may try that tomorrow and see what happens. Hope I'm not addicted to the runflats feel. Those bastids are too expensive!!

I've been toying with the idea of black rims on Butters, so...Here's another Plasti-dip attack.
The finish looks good & I think I like the black better than silver. It ties the whole Black/Yellow theme together better.

I like that black and yellow theme as well.

Think about painting the brake calipers yellow, that would look pretty nice!

LOL ... very punny!

Thank for the complements. I like the way he's turning out.

I agree with the yellow caliper idea. I think it will look nice too...I have put it on the "Big List of MINI Things" to get done.

It never fails, you mark one thing off the list, add one more to the bottom.

Ughh these puns make my insides churn.

Nice change, Not4no1. The black looks like it was meant to be there all along. Yellow calipers or maybe center cap decals with yellow would be cool too.

The wheels look great! I'm running s-lite's for my winter wheel and I'm thinking of plasti-dipping them. Any suggestions?

I'd go red or blue on the calipers. Yellow would be a little too matchy.

I went the lazy way...I didn't even take my wheels off. I washed them first and let them dry.

I put papertowels behind the wheels to cover the calipers & disks then taped up the air valve stems, I didn't tape the outer rim.

Shake can for a minute or two, do a very light coat, let dry for 15m, another light coat, let dry 15, then I did a thicker coat, dry 15, repeat till done.

Once they looked good enough, I rolled the car back to flip the wheels (top now bottom) and did a touch-up coat.

Let dry then removed the papertowels.

Then I peeled the plastidip off the center cap.

Is it true that you just peel this stuff off if you don't like it or want to change it out again?

I can see having some fun with this, or trying out a look before making an expensive investment in "real" parts.

Edit to add - I see you just peeled it off the center cap when you were finished.
No ragged edges though?
It looks very crisp.
I would have thought the caps had been taped off.

I replaced the starter, tightened a loose wheel hub and fixed a sticky headlight relay...
