What did you do to your mini today?
over the weekend I: washed mini, ran wires, ran more wires, installed a CB Radio, re-did the vinyl wrap on my steering wheel and tach, smoked my rear fog light, finished some wiring inside my knee bolster for car gadets (fixed a relay), started to wire my gauge pod, vacuumed the mini, & washed the windows
before all of that, i blew some strange black non-smelling oil-ish substance out of somewhere in the engine near the pulleys!
oh, and i "smoked" the cruise control light in the Tach! it was just a little too bright. after 15 mins of careful cutting, i ended up with a fairly circular piece of smoke film to stick over that spot on the tach
works great! cant see it in the day, and now the cruise control is not so "blaring" green in my face!

what is that stuff? it work good? i have bug guts i cant get off my hood! (its love-bug season here in Florida!)
Awesome rims....
Saturday I installed my JCW style grill (painted the inner support post and bottom inner lip black, think I might do the same to the small slat behind the bottom piece). Sunday I washed it up real nice so the nice new black grill didn't seem so out of place. Next to figure out what to do with the headlights, I'm thinking color matched rings (I'm not a fan of the way blacked out rings look like eyeliner on white cars), maybe joey modding the insides with a smoked color (don't want to go full black), who knows.
xstart - grille looks great! I agree on the petey eyes on white cars - got mine vinyled by Lyle and they're holding up very well. I think I'll just have them painted body color on my next MINI though...

Once you've got them off, Prima Hydro products will help to keep them off.
Hydro Seal, maintained with Hydro every wash makes the love bugs easy to rinse off.
Get them off gently, but get them off.
They will eat right through your paint.
Ugh!
Picture #2 is scary though.
I was afraid to volunteer for this project, but would love to have one of these new faces.
Pulling apart a MINI's interior isnt that bad.
You only live once...why not try everything?
I've torn open the interiors of two different vehicles with varying degrees of difficulty (my Jeep's dashboard seems to have been almost designed with easy removal in mind) and have managed to get them both back into the same state they were before I waved a screwdriver at them.
I'll be tearing into Jubilee sometime this week, as I'd like to figure out exactly why my 12V plug isn't working - seems to be something wiring-related, as the power supply is very intermittent. And, if I get slightly more brave, I might see how tough it is to shore up my driver-side window - that requires pulling the door panel, I think.

I did pull my grille off once and got it back on again.
Good luck with Jubilee!
The dash isn't all that bad, really. There are two "hidden" screws on the top of the speedo - inside the little vent on the dash that are a huge pain. But other than those two screws, everything else was just piece by piece. Pretty simple, to be honest.
They're almost all T20 screws. There are like 4 T27s, but other than that - one driver gets them all. LOL

I really like the look of those new gauge face plates.
Looks like Out Motoring has done it again!
Haven't done this myself, so I can't vouch for it.
This is one of those things that I've heard for years, but never actually tried. I too would be curious to know how/if that works.
WD-40 only because it's silicone based and acts as a lube. A spray on quick detailer is best unless it's a pile that requires a clay and wash. Wax will help protect your paint but left on too long bugs will eat into your clear coat.
