I'm also considering spraying my rims with the Black Nightshade to get the transparent "smoked" thing going on over the silver. That should also serve to make brake dust a little less apparent than it is currently.... Any thoughts?

What I ended up doing:
I looked at them after they were clean, and thought about it a bit, and just shot the whole outside lens and left the inner lenses alone. I have to say, I like the all-red look. I feel a *little* silly with amber bulbs in the turn signals, but I don't have clear ones to put in, and you really have to look *hard* to see that the turn signals are just a hair less red than the brake/tail and rear fogs.
Hey Dale, Nix the idea of black Nightshades on silver paint...
We used it on the giant chrome grille of a Ford Fusion, and it came out hunters green! Just a heads up... I have seen it turn purple, green, blue, and black, who knows what can you might get.

If you are coming to MITM this year and are willing to spend an extra night or two, you could drive home with your wheels any color you want (including TITIE PINK) for less than $100. Just sayin... You get the friends discount.

Has anyone tried the smoke plastidip? It sounds like an interesting option for a project like this.

We'll have to see if things work out in time for me to go this year. I spent my summer FUN money going back to NJ for my dad's FUNeral back in May. If the paperwork arrives for his last SSDI check before the registration for MITM closes, I might just make it up there. I'm tempted to register anyway (since it's not expen$ive) and if I can't go, see if someone from the local club is going and can pick up my goodie bag and bring it back here when they return to PHX.

Thanks for the offer!

It stands whenever you come out. If you can get a paint code in advance, that minimises the down time.

Hope to see you in August... I will only be there Saturday and maby Sunday morning though.

Hi superfly -
I really like your wheels.
The red and black shows them off nicely.

i'm pretty convinced that you can put any color stripes on a black mini and it will look good, but i really like the look of the teal on your mini. it looks fantastic. good choice.

It's supposed to cut the boost lag a bit, right? How dramatic was the effect?

It is really easy. I picked up a can of VHT Nightshades black tint from Advanced Auto. I prepped the markers by wiping them down with alcohol. I then took some blue painters tape and masked off the area around the markers. I sprayed light coats until I got the shade I wanted.

Got a Go Pro for him. I've still got to get the suction cup mount. Also have to figure out how I can use my rear tow hook in some way to shoot backwards... Should be fun for runs.

Try this for the tow hook mount

It's an awesome setup!! I use it all the time, but I've only thought to use it on the back once... You will love that Go Pro!!
