I'm just figuring out the new software - doesn't really like my Mac at the moment. Hope it resolves...

I "tinted" mine accidentally when I used the Kiwi Black Leather Dye to give a better black finish to my black fender/rocker trim. The dye works like a charm on the trim (it's an old VW guy trick), and when I gave it a swipe or two across the lights it did a pretty acceptable job on the lights, too! Not too shabby for $3.50.
Kiwi lasts months, much longer than any other "black"-ish product I've tried. It's Khaki-friendly (it doesn't leave an oily film or rub-offable residue). It's actually pretty good stuff. I even used it on my black Mini rubber floormats with great success, doesnt' rub off and lasts bleedin' forever. Be sure to get the Leather DYE, not the "shoe polish". Clean the trim, break out the kiwi, rub on with the attached applicator (don't get it on your clothes or concrete driveway), kind of "rub it in" using a paper towel, and yer done. Apply a second coat if your trim was really bad. Wear those cheap nitrile gloves so you don't have to scrub your hands. There's also another Mini forum member who developed a makes-black-trim-blacker product that's apparently really good in different ways, I've used the Kiwi for years, just my preference. Also depends on what you want your trim to look like, the Kiwi isn't shiny, just a satin-ish black. If you're using it, pretty much by definition your trim is already faded, so it improves it dramatically and, if carefully applied, looks almost factory. It doesn't have that armor-all-ish "shine".

It is really easy. I picked up a can of VHT Nightshades black tint from Advanced Auto. I prepped the markers by wiping them down with alcohol. I then took some blue painters tape and masked off the area around the markers. I sprayed light coats until I got the shade I wanted.
Got A new exhaust line
that was supposed to be invidia
but to my big surprise it was not!!!!
More like a Megan copy with blue tips
(five letter word starting whit f) EBAY
Couldn't send it back
Decided to try it anyways took the neighborhood mechanic 2hours to fit on my car, he had to bend all four rear hooks, cut one off on the line hand do some welding to put it in place. Good thing is that it is truly stainless steel (at least).
So after two hour came starting time.... VRRROOOOMMM

It really has a low growling pleasant sound at idle with just a hint of burble and pop when you hit the gas, drove it locally and on the highway to remove the bad smell and test it Really pleased whit the sound so far at idle and at WOT, Highway cruising is also good and the best part almost no drone at all at any RPM (was afraid of that)

So Bad ebay exhaust line his not so bad after all, exept maybe for the price I paid
Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose

However, slightly too much throttle from a standstill will blow. the. tires. off.

(Oops, I just realized this probably should have gone in the JCW Dyno Sheet thread)
Today I did the first customization of my new MINI. Not much but I like it!
Got some UJ Valve Stem Covers.

Also washed and did my first ever clay bar of any car. Cleaned the inside too. No pictures though as it was dark when I finished. Can't wait to see it in the sun!

K, so it was yesterday, but got my rebuilt power steering pump reinstalled. I had "Armstrong" steering for a couple weeks while it was sent out, but the company that did it warrantees their work for 5 years, and seals the electronic control board after rebuilding it with new ICs so that it doesn't get re-contaminated with dust from the brushes. *MUCH* cheaper than a new pump!
Today, I vacuumed Nudnik's interior with my new shopvac attachments. Much overdue, but it'll probably only take two weeks to be just as dusty as it was before. AZ is a dusty place....
C ya,

Got my detailing supplies from OctaneGuy and applied my Black Wow to the trim. Also used some on my stripes and restored them from being all faded and spotted!!

Spent the day with PDXMINI club at Portland International Raceway checking out the Portland Historic Races. Got to do a parade lap with all the other car clubs and even got to do my first autocross. It was a great day!
changed my plugs and wires today, I figured since I'm close to 60k and doubt they've ever been changed it might be a ggood idea. Definitely feels a little smoother now. I went with Denso's and some upgraded wires from outmotoring, the red wires look nice in there.
I am still waiting to have mine installed. I still am waiting on some APR Performance support rods for my carbon fiber front lip to come in. As soon as they come in, everything will be installed at one time. It could be another week before that happens.
I had my first Plasti-Dip experience today. All hail Plasti-Dip spray!
I "dipped" the intercooler scoop and the grille slats. So far, so good.

I guess I'll see how it holds up. To do the grille slat in the bumper, I had to remove the front license plate and holder. So far, I like the cleaner no-plate look.

Bear Mountail
I took my 2005 Chilli Red MC to have its oil changed, brake fluid flushed and replaced, power steering fluid flushed, AC checked, and coolant replaced. Then took ' Penny' for a wash and detail then a nice drive up the Palisades up to Bear Mtn with my wife . A nice leisurely drive home and out to dinner.
Priceless.
Priceless.
