What did you do to your mini today?
Under Bonnet Cowl Cover Mesh
Over the last few years adding various wiring components such as remote radar, remote alarm, additional lighting, air horns/relay and solenoids for the CRY02 injection, the areas where these wires are routed and components mounted looked way too cluttered.
Thought about covering them, but the pass side ABS system can get pretty darn hot, so I felt trapping the hot air there was not a good idea.
Alerternative was to use stainless steel mesh. Found some. Made templates of the cavity opening with brown wrapping paper and proceeded to cut and form the edges with a pair of pliers bending it to a 90 degree angle to the face then attached the rubber trim so that the screen is tucked up under and inside the rubber channel area holding it in really tight.
Now that "eye sore" area inside the cowls is practically invisible as the eye tends to focus on the screen instead of what is undernieth.
Will be painting them with black (caliper) Ceramic spray paint tomorrow....
At the very ends near bonnet struts there are shielded wire harnesses and cutting around them left flat ends. So painting the mesh should provide a cleaner look.
Then finish it off with a chrome cover for the Brake fluid reservoir.

May look cool if you remove the bottom amber bulb, take out that lens ( from the back ) then add a set of chrome stealth directional bulbs.
I first saw this few years back done by "REDRUM" Mini....to a set of R53 face lift Xenons.
Are you able to say what they typically charge for this service ?
Picked up an artificial Christmas tree 70% off tonight. Good thing I already had the roof rack installed.

Had a surprising number of looks at traffic lights, etc. It was totally stable. I didn't need to worry about on-ramps, highway and spirited driving on the way home.

Might as well add a new set of those to the cost of the motor rebuild.
Changed the oil in the r56 and called the dealership about my leaky oil line going to the turbo. I have an appointment with them on the day after Christmas... "Merry Christmas, now give me $$" The things I do for this car
I'll second that motion. It wouldn't be bad if the car only nickel and dimed us but it's usually way more than that. On a good note, it sure is fun to drive!!!!! I hoping I can go a year without any more issues.
I live in New England and have not been able to get my car washed for awhile. So today I knew it would rain but be in the 50s and I could at least wash my wheels (apartment living=no self hand wash for me unfortunately). I went down to wash my wheels and it started sprinkling. I looked like a fool but I have clean wheels now! Down the brake dust!
Thanks!
"Low key" was the "theme" this time... Last Clubman was for show and shine, "in your face, you regular (MINI)uneducated person on the street or in the traffic"... This time, I am going (I hope) for more refined look that only MINI aficionado would appreciate...
Today i got in my headlights so i threw them on my car as soon as possible. And WOW those pics do not do justice. those headlights look amazing. i have not been able to hook up the daytime runnning lights on them yet but ill update it later on tonight with some pics and videos of those but here is what i have right now.
