Ran some errands...

Need to wash car... it looks much worse in person... it is grey and brown (yuck). But we keep getting little dusting of snow. Interior really needs a clean. That road salt just gets everywhere on a black interior!

Also found this today. I seem to have an anti-slip tray in the centre console cubby. Do all newer MINIs have this?? Sorry about the totally gross interior. There is salt, energy drink spillage, dog drool and who knows what in my car after the Christmas family trip:

I should have taken a pic of the stuff we hauled back. Some guys with their BMWs down the parking lot were doing repairs... They were staring in disbelief that we fit a dog, 3 boxes, two carry-size suitcases and various other bags inside. We needed two trips to the garage to haul it upstairs!

The car sure looks looks a lot different from how it looked with a bought it a few months ago. I really like the blacked out look! Much less "girly" looking now!

Then...

Now...

Now you're talkin'! That looks great! I really dislike that grill in chrome or body color, but I like it better than the MCS honeycomb grill when it's black. Did you run the stripes all the way down on the boot too?

^ Looks Dulls-ville to me, but, meh, to each their own. Suppose you're going to complete the look, and black out the belt line? Then the head lamps? Might as well.
I'm a chrome person myself, but for the look you're going for, you're doing a nice job.............

I think I've done everything I'm going to do on it. I started out with the stripe and the black wheels. Then all of the chrome on the front just didn't look right. I did the grill in black...then the chrome headlight rings stuck out like a sore thumb....so I "had" to do those black also.

I think it's got just about as much black on it as I want....and the best part is, other than the strips it's all plastidip sprayed ...so I can just peel it off to go back to the chrome look any time I want. Hard to beat that

Nothing terribly exciting today, but my orange valve stem covers arrived in the mail today and I put them on. They don't exactly match the Spice Orange, but they look cool!

Just swapped out the stock spice orange mirror caps for black. Hobbes thinks they look cool. Will post a picture tomorrow when it's daylight.

Thanks to Mark, my MA for stopping on his way home from the dealership to swap them out for me!

I see you have the anti-gravity handling package.... Nice pic!

I grew up not far from you, just north of Lakehurst. It's nice to see pix from near home once in a while. Tanxs for posting!

I spent three hours waiting for a BMW service technician to come and take a look at my baby because of a minor fire under the hood. He couldn't tell me what the connector is, but maybe one of you can. There is a small connector directly below the oil filter housing. After spending two hours shopping, my wife and I went back to the parkhaus to get my baby and go home. We paid, got in, started the car, and within five seconds there was white smoke peeking from under the hood. Didn't know where it came from the first time, but upon closer diagnosis, the tech and I found it. He hooked me up to his X35 D and pulled me up two floors in the parking structure so a tow truck could pick us up, literally.... What a good night....

Yikes! Sorry to hear this. How bad is the fire damage?

The "Krautenküper" got an adjustable lumbar support for the driver's seat. What a difference!

Followed the thread in the "How To" section, and the install went without a hitch in about an hour and fifteen minutes. The "ball-and-chain's" Justa, "Frau Blau", gets the same treatment when she gets home from work. I expect the second install will take about 45 minutes, now that I have the technique down.

Didn't plan on it, but I think I'll spring for the parts to do the passenger seats too. The increased comfort is definately worth it.

Washed also. Black wow'd the fenders and scrubed the calipers with a tooth brush to make 'em pretty.

I was going to say the same thing! Hand washed and blacked the trim. On New Years Day in NJ without a jacket is an amazing thing!

FINALLY got Molly hosed off last night, was hoping today to treat her to a Griot's Garage SprayOn Car Wash Bath, but I'm stuck in the house with a Heating Pad...lower back pain that I've never had this bad before.

What I did for my Mini today ... hood scoop.

Well, after a long wait (they were backed up on orders) my Vortex 2 Hood Scoop arrived from M7 Tuning. So first a bath for the Mini, and then I installed it. I like it, it was worth the wait.

50 degrees and sunny on Jan 1 in WA state....weird....but, got to give Oliver a good vacuum and wash. He's all tucked back in the garage shiny and clean.

I think I'm going to get mud flaps....I'm not sure how I feel about them but, the gunk that sticks to the side of the car is so yucky. I'll go back and find those posts about them that flew by when I wasn't paying attention and see if I can find some I like.

Hey, IQRaceWorks....Love the blacked out look!
