Thanks!

After almost two hours waiting, I checked outside and the creep with the Tahoe finally left.

Hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight after being aggravated about this for the past two hours....

C ya,

Wash all the concrete dust/mud off the car, then pulled wheels to clean the wells of all the dust/mud, washed wheels, washed and dried car again. Note to self stay away from concrete plant next to highway.

I used Aerospace 303 and Sonus Eclipse on all the plastic and rubber bits today. Just did a quick detail spray on the body and cleaned the glass a few days ago.

Another thing i love about my wheels is that you can clean the inside and the inner lip without removal of the wheel!

I thought I could post that I picked a color for my stripes but just like with the car color, I can't make up my mind.

At least with stripes, it's not as big of an investment to change your mind later. And with MB/MB pretty much any color you pick is going to stand out and look pretty good IMO.

On the subject if stripes, I'm thinking of getting a white CF vinyl sheet from 3m, and cutting myself some stripes out of that.

I'm actually going for purple. I just can't decide what shade. The darker won't stand out much but they're more me. The lighter will stand out but I don't know if its really my style. Decisions decisions.

The stripes look good. Nice job.

Have you considered doing the boot and the bumpers?

Standard weekend prep. Wash, quick detail inside and out, clean the glass and dress the tires.

Thanks, I like them...

I'm still working on the boot...

I have considered the bumpers, briefly. I like stripes to be accenting, not dominating. That's why design width and color choice is extremely important to me....it's personal choice.

Did the first part of the install on my new VIP strut tower brace with strut tower mushroom-protector plates.

The bar should be here in a week or two, as this is a brand-new product for VIP, and the bars are not yet complete and in production....

Sorry for the poor light--it was getting dark. I held a clamp-on lamp in one hand and the phone/camera in the other to get this shot....

C ya,
Dutch

We drove down to Santa Cruz today and saw a pretty healthy number of fellow MINIacs out there representin'. The weather was unusually warm (95 F) but it was absolutely beautiful out. We had so much fun driving that we forgot to take pics. Oh well, maybe next time. Tomorrow is the MINI of SF annual rally and they're going to Santa Cruz this year. Sadly we can't make it so we decided to do a pre-rally run.

Being in a hotel won't stop me from my projects, lol.

All new rotors and pads for mine. Not a bad project and a good start getting my new ride tweaked a bit.

Yesterday I replaced the cabin air filter in mine (if you think it is time for you to do that, it is.) and the wifes mini got the AC refrigerent level checked and some dye injected. It's the first summer with that car (only had it 6 weeks) and I can't tell if it is an bad issue, or if it has just never been touched for 7 years yet, but I will soon.

I folded down the back seats for the first time to bring a 4 foot hero to my brother's house. I should have taken a pic.

I just drove, happily, through the thunderstorms on the Garden State Parkway. Unfortunately there was traffic 80% of the way, and I can't count how many times I was cut off.

People love to cut MINI's off, I see it every day. Must be the "my car is bigger" attitude problem.
