I understand that this is first test and more tuning is going to be done...I know that the tune is really going to be the key with this system...Your right I am a firm believer that there is a lot of potential here! I am really looking foward to the MTH tune.

That is just my opinion, everyone has one. I said what I did because my mini is making around 182lbs of TQ as it sits right now. I am very interested in this kit and only hope good things!

I'm not trying to argue with you, I respect many of your posts and agree with what you have to say but my car must be different, when on the dyno the DSC will kick on and cut the throttle off. I have to manually turn it off. Maybe where trying to say the same thing

Thanks again for the up-date Peter, keep them coming -- Johan

Johan, is that 182lbs. at the wheels? What mods are you running for that result? That's a stout number!

What kind of dyno are you guys using to tune Bob's car?

I apologize for off topic my numbers are from a chassis dyno that is based on the DynoJet Model 248 single drum. This dyno features a 48-inch diameter drum.

so long as all your future comparisons are done on that type of dyno you'll see acurate improvement . cool #'s

That is not true. Even within the same manufacturer there are output differences. Not to mention all the variables I discuss on my web page such as IAT, oil and water temps, at least a 35,000 cfm fan for heat exchange, wheel slippage, and vehicle variables, e.g., break in, oil viscosity, and rotating mass differences.

Nothing is stopping you or anybody else from taking into account most of those variables. Pay attention to IAT, ECT, knock. Run the same tires, the same tranny gear, the same tie-down strap orientation, the same fans and locations. Once your setup is as close to identical as possible, then your error goes way down. Note I didn't say the error is gone, just reduced. Obviously there is a measurement error tolerance. Many of us are not new to this forum like you are, so please don't treat us like dummies. If you want to get serious, start publishing numbers generated from an engine dyno cell in a controlled environment. Most of use aren't that well funded, so we do our best to reduce error on the chassis dyno. I also don't want to hear how you've been in the industry for 100,000 years. For all we know, you've been doing things wrong all that time.

Best read on NAM in a while from someone within the profession. Supports what Don is saying here.

I am in an internet cafe across from the Pitti Palace....yep that' right....

I have seen a lot of "old stuff" including the "David"..... pretty impressive.

I'm wondering how the car is doing as I have not been in touch for a week

I hope all is well,

Bob

Go rent a road bike in Florence and head down towards Greve and Sienna. Fantastic riding and great gelato!

You must rent a car in Florence and go check out Passo del Muraglione just outside of Florence. It rivals the Dragon as one of my all time favorite roads.Details can be found here. http://www.cimt.it/toscana_roads.htm
There is a cafe on top of the pass where you can grab a bite and hang out with all the cool cars and motorcycles.

Mouth cleaned with Ivory...anyway...just remember one thing while in Italy...stopping at red lights is an option and drag racing at green isn't

I bet you do, as we do too. Now you know how all of us who've been following this thread have felt over the last few weeks. The irony of it being your car however makes this sublime.

if the 62 makes say ....too much boost for low charge temps to be possible ; wouldn't cooling the charge in a large intercooler not only reduce the boost enough but bring the temps down nicely ?

M7 states a 40whp over baseline. What was the baseline setup? If 40 over stock S, very disappointing. If 40 over stage 4 tuning, very impressive for a first iteration.

I believe this was on SpiderX's car (You can see his specs on his sig). M7 has stated many times that this setup with no other mods, will provide about 195 wheel HP, or about a 30% increase in HP. This is also going to provide a cooler intake charge, which should in theory mean better reliability than just throwing a pulley on.

I would be willing to be an early adopter....

MINIBLU is currently down due to what I believe to be a nearly dead SC. If the dealership bill is going to be in the the 3K range for an M45 I would surely spend the same money on an M62.

DDM if you are watching this thread please contact me. I am in Columbia. The car is at Hendrick in Charlotte. I could get it to you this weekend if need be.

Thanks
Jack
