Drivetrain M62 SC on the MINI is reality
Beta Testers are getting schedules
Hello Everyone,
Thought I would chime in and give an update of the progress of the DDM M62 kit. We have been logging as many miles on the test car as possible to make sure that everything looks good, so far no major problems to report. Bob will be getting his car back this week and I look forward to his reports.
We have started to line up the beta testers for installations, they will be getting their installs in the coming weeks. We are looking for one more beta tester. If you are in the southeast and can have us install the kit for you, give us a call - 864-907-6004, we want to talk to you! I will also post this information on the official M62 interest thread. Once we get the first beta tester installed next week, we will also be sending out a beta kit to M7 who will be installing it on their Cosworth car.
The first beta tester gets his DDM M62 installed next week, and we will be doing before and after dyno runs of the car on our dyno. He is also going to be installing one of our heads, headers and exhaust in the future so everyone can see what steps will make the most power with the DDM M62 kit.
I know everyone wants this kit right now, but we are making sure that there will be no major problems with the kit when it is introduced, so that it is truely a simple bolt on project. Driveability and reliability are very important to us.
The intake that we have been using on the test cars is flowing very good for the power that we are making with the M62, and we will be making a vendor anouncement about the intake in the coming days. It is available now through our website : http://www.ddmworks.com and also through M7. We call it the DDM M62 intake and will be offering polished and ceramic coating options for it in the coming week also, a first for any intake out there for the MINI.
Keep checking back here for more updates!

Dave I'm also on the west coast, but I'm looking forward to hearing how the M62 comes out on the dyno. I have had my M45 supercharger modified, but i'm disappointed in the performance. I can always use a little more help.
Hi everyone....
nice to be here..... everytime I go to Europe I am reminded why they have had their revolutions..... nuff said...... much to see.....amazing.
back to OT
I spoke with Dave and Peter last night on my way home and Stratmosphere has sent the header and Peter is sending the 59..... Dave is bringing my car to me Saturday..... I will be very happy to have it back.....I want to "MOTOR"....... I have decided to dyno it at "Knowledge Performance on their dynopack as I have several "deltas" from them.....and this should be beneficial.....
Peter is very anxious to get his demo kit and Dave has it in the "que"...... the west coast should be represented very soon......
As you now see from Dave's post that a series of products that compliment the 62, or can stand alone, are to follow (Nashville trip had some great discussions) ..... look for some exciting things from DDM...... please remember that a development like (62) this takes a minimum of 6-12 mo and we are only on week 10.... not bad.....

The way I think it was explained was:
You buy the kit
You pay to have it installed
You provide test info
In return you don't have to wait another 2 months to get it :-P.

All of the Beta's are lined up!
All of the beta testers are lined up for the installs in the coming weeks. This should start to give us a lot of feedback on the kit and help us make the DDM M62 kit even more drivable and reliable when it hits the market for everyone else. Looking forward to Bob getting his car back and running the car on the dyno he has been to before in Atlanta, and seeing how it compares to our dyno runs up here also. Looks like there will be lots of data coming out in the coming few weeks.
Take Care,
Dave

I am very excited about having my car back after about 10 weeks....... who wants to motor on Sunday?
I will fill you all in... the header and TB should get there today and I should have the car tomorrow..... later today I will make the dyno appt....
I won't be disappointed if Dave has him more than a week. Two?
Very exciting stuff though as I remember the ride in yours right after a couple of hurdles were cleared. Simply amazing stuff folks.
Anybody from Indiana or Ohio, Illinois, or Michigan one of the beta testers? I would love to get to see one of these in person and also go for a ride. I'm located in northern Indiana

But fear not...I'll make up for it soon enough one way or another...
I know the 62 will eventually find it's way on to MSFITOY.
The only problem then will be that the AGS V.3 will be rendered useless.
It's all ready to be shipped back to papa, I just have to get to the P.O.

There are already plans for a car or 2 in the Indy area to get the kit. Rides shouldn't be a problem.

This thing is really happening...... I spoke with Dave yesterday and he is very happy with the kit...... beta cars are lined up for the next phase which I think will be very short.... I suspect there will be many 62 cars out there in the next few months.... (mine comes back today...yes
) I suspect that by Dragon time I will not be very unique but that is a good thing.....
Stratmosphere delivered the header yesterday and I have the M7 59 TB at my house ...... we are good to go..... I'll post sometime tomorrow with my impressions so far..... as soon as I can get the TB on I will get the dynos done..... a word on the dyno.... this is a dyno that I have used a lot .... it is a dyna-pack.... where the wheels come off.... these guys do a lot of STIs and EVOs and need the 4 wheel capability..... regardless of the numbers the driveability is nothing short of phenomenal..... like I said with a screwed up header and cat the car pulled 5th like it used to pull 3rd.... the Megan is a 2 1/4 and the Milltek is a 2 1/2 have to seee some improvement there....more later
