M62 SC on the MINI is reality

I have seen a picture of an incredibly clean install of an Eaton M62 SC... this SC is capable of putting 300 whp.... the current install on a stock motor is only putting out 200 -215 WHP for safety purposes.... I'm sure you will hear more about this kit

btw... I have been without my car for 3 weeks now and I miss it......my GF's Miata is nice but I miss the "SpiderX"

I've been waiting for this.
I take it the 300hp is using a normal drive ratio for the SC?
If I recall correctly at its optimal rpm the 62 will flow about 50% more air than the 45.
45

62

Better flow at lower rpm means less heat for the same boost. I would also think this would build boost sooner/quicker, another good thing :D

I don't have permission to release the pictures from Bob but maybe you guys should ask him instead?

All I can say is WOW...it's a beasty sized SC Nice clean install as Bob mentioned...

I've thought about going TC or Turbo but would greatly miss the SC...this sounds like a very attractive alternative for those not wishing to pursue the insane HP race...I'd be happy to live with a 300whp SC Mini anyday

Just thought of something, does the 62 directly drive the water pump?

Wow. That's sick. I know a fellow motorer was considering strapping on a Mercedes supercharger. The one with a clutch on the pulley. Would have been great for twincharging. However I believe he has now given that up to pursue the "insane HP race."

That being said you can't beat the efficiency of a turbo.

From what I see, the 62 is much longer so they use an electric water pump in the same proximity mounted to the driver's side rail connected with longer hoses...the intake plenum is prototype with the TB in the same location...

Nice!

Thanks

For the curious among us

45 & 62 Dimensions

Since the total length dimensions overlap and the other 2 appear the same it seems the fit is easier than some had thought.

I would think the block mating surface would be the most difficult technical hurdle.

Where's the drooling emoticon? Looks clean. Curious what the bigger SC does for driveability down low...

Damn. I'm betting that this will be CARB-friendly, or at least pass a visual, not making this mod problematic. VERY interested! Looking-forward to some details...
