Well, I'm back from Greenville. Been down there working with Dave on Bob's car, adding some surprises and fixing the things we blew up during the week...

Just kidding!

Dave really knows what he's doing, and that car is FAST. I think we may need some 10" wide tires, though...

What we really need is a 'thread tivo' so we can fast forward through the slow parts, and get to the good stuff.

The wait is a killer, Bob! It sounds like today is going to be a very interesting day.

Now I'm getting all excited as Icarus gets handed off to Dave today after he drops off Bob's for the M62 transplant. I really don't know how you handled not having your Mini for that long. Poor fella. I'm already taking lingering looks at my boy. Hurry back buddy!

On a side note, re: dyno, have you figured out a way to take advantage of your DFIC during a dyno run? I tried putting a blower right in front of mine but it just doesn't duplicate real air flow at all. There was no delta from the runs without the DFIC but I know beyond doubt this thing adds an awesome punch to the giddy up.

It should be going on the dyno here shortly (next couple of days, I think)... Am I correct?

MisFitoy - I just found out Friday my friend in Indy is getting this done, maybe we could set up a date and cruise down together to check out his beast...

It's an '06 JCW with DFIC and some other goodies (don't know if the DFIC is on yet or not)... PM me if you're interested

Sorry we didn't get to chat more. I was elbow deep in Bob's car at that point!

Good luck, I know you won't be dissappointed!

Try crearing a plastic sleeve (tube) that you attach (tape) to the fan and the other end to the DFIC (tape) - this way 100% of the fan air is forced thru the DFIC. It would then only be a question if the fan is producing comparable air to the real world.

Any dyno numbers for Spiders car yet..?? Am anxious to see what the kit is putting down, especially with the number of additional bolt ons and such that Bob has.

SpiderX,

Now that you have your car back what is your impression with the way it drives, are you still happy with the performance?

Spider,
I am indeed one of the fortunate ones. Had a few moments of doubt on Saturday morning as I was babying MB down to Greenville from Hendrick in CLT. MB has a bad S/C. I thought the factory S/C and the M62 were going to be closer in price range. But I feel in the long run what I want the car to be will be worth it.
