Drivetrain The Official ALTA AccessPORT Thread
Frankly, the stage 2 and stage 3 maps will just not be compatible with the stock exhaust. They were made on a car with a turbo back, and weren't intended to be ran on anything else. Running the incorrect map could lead to turbo failure, CELs, and drivability issues.
I remember working on this a few months back. I thought we got it figured out. I'm emailing COBB to see if we can get it fixed.

Has anyone else had problems "uninstalling" the AccessPort from the ECU? I was told by Alta_Chris to uninstall to see the additional maps (after updating firmware, etc on computer). The AccessPort just sat there in "Identifying Car" field for over 30 minutes. I tried stopping and starting the car as well as simple removal of the key and putting it back into "start" mode. No luck on anything. I'm just trying to get S2, S3 maps onto my access port.
Sorry you're still having problems! If it's stuck on the "identifying vehicle" for more than a few seconds, unplug it and plug it back in. It's rare, but sometimes the AP can get hung up on that window.
Hello, the AccessPORT comes preloaded with a stage 1 91 octane map. The K&N intake has given some problems in the past, which can't be tuned for. I recommend running it with the preloaded stage 1 91 map.
Yup. And for the life of me I can't think what relationship it could have.
The rev limiter is there, at least in the normal maps preloaded in the AccessPORT. But it's raised a few hundred RPMs from stock.
Excuse me if this has already been answered... I tried to search thru the thread but as we all know its a long one.
So I want to go to Stage 2 or Stage 3... in CA so need a CAT for emissions. What I was able to find searching thru the thread was that I would need a 3" high flow cat back exhaust. Is that accurate?
Does that mean I don't need a a 3" down pipe?
What vendors are making 3" cat back exhausts?

Alta no longer makes their 3" system on which their stage 2 and 3 maps were designed. Their 3" downpipe had 2 (two) high flow cats.
FWIW Akropovic makes a 2 1/2" high flow downpipe (100 cel) which would probably be your best bet for a downpipe.
A few threads back, someone mentioned that they were running such a system, can't remember if S-2 or S-3, but Alta said the data showed no problems. good luck.

The AccessPORT does not work on the R58 S, sorry!

So there is no way to "legally" go to Stage 2/3 in CA?
And just so I'm clear the only other thing needed for Stage 3 is a FMIC?
