I've got this damn Aspen tree shading our drive that is constantly spewing aphid turds so I usually park down at the end to wash. I guess it is time to set the canopy up again for washing that way my hose can reach. Or I could use the leaf (leave?) blower as kenchan suggested but it is so loud that at 6:00 AM I'd get calls.
Another weepy spot - under the chrome belt line molding in front of the doors. Really got to be patient to draw the water out with your towel or else it will drip about 30 minutes after you put everything away.

Re the hose for the compressor. Why not get one of those portable (5/10 gallon?) tanks to fill it up from the compressor and just carry it around the car. They aren't heavy or expensive and they're good to have around.

Better yet, get a MINI compact spare from a Cooper, and use that as your air source. =) Just hope you don't get a flat tire when you're all done blowing the water out.

After my mirrors, my second worst spot for annoying post-washing seepage is under my M7 APD. Water gets under there and it can take months to get back out. Of course I'm assuming it would take months since I end up washing again well before that.
yet you use semi-man made toilet paper for your buttocks, no?

not sure about linty... never had linty papertowels. i just use Bounty and
make sure it's wetted.

I just cleaned bird poop off of my loaner 328i. The poop was on there when they gave me the car at Enterprise.

I used paper towels and water because I didn't have any QD on hand. Is there something wrong with me? I miss Geoffrey.

no, you did the loaner a huge favor!

placed my order to Griot's for the SprayOn Car Wash kit, 9 position hose
nozzle with the carwash dispenser built-in, and the male brass fittings for
the water hose.

the sprayon car wash kit is going to be used only on my hobby cars when
i have to spot clean kick ups.

as far as the 9position nozzle....
after doing the initial rinse, im going to hit it with the shampoo mixture
through the hose and cover the car completely with car shampoo.

then going to hit it with my washmitt while rinsing the mitt in the wash
bucket time to time to clean out the grit.

then rinse off using the 'flood' mode on the nozzle.

this should cut down my washing from 12min to 7-8min per car.

this will be for cloudy days or early morning washes.

For $7 (excluding shipping) more you could have gotten the Mr Clean system that does the same plus filters the water. I use it when washing in the sun and risk spotting. The filter eliminates that plus you can put any shampoo in it if you're into that whole sudsing thing.

Okay I just picked up Geoffrey from the dealership and as I got on the freeway I noticed fingerprint smudges on my inside pillar. I've tried wiping them down with Meguiar's Interior Detailing wipes and it's not working. Help!

I know I should've gone back and complained to the dealership but I just wanted to get back home...

You might try some mild soapy water in a small area to test.

My wife's car had some grease monkey's handprints in the interior as well and I got most of it off with soapy water.

those meg wipes are inferior to what the Griot's InteriorCleaner can do.

cause the weather was crap. went through some forests where lots of
crap were on the ground and it just stuck to the side sills.

most of it blasted off with water.

nice. i have 2 little ones myself. the older one's almost 4 and
he has a little sandbox in the garage where he plays with his dump truck
and loader in. i taught him so he doesn't make a mess in the garage.

My daughter has put two dings in the MINI already. The first has been fixed, the second is still there.

But it is just a car, right, Ken?

(* waiting for reaction *)

Don't know how much Inspection I costs, but I was quoted $1100 for Inspection II (for justacooper) when I picked up Geoffrey yesterday. The SA didn't say what was involved, just that it was a "Full Service Inspection."

You have 2 MINIs now too

Between the rain and the heat, I have to cut the grass twice a week
