Yellow Haze is still in effect here. And storms tomorrow. And a little more rain on Sunday... and then I'm sure more Yellow Haze on Monday... Arrrrrghhhh.

But I got my new horn today...

But will be a couple of weeks before I get it installed, prolly.

Because if you face it forward it will deafen you while driving. And cause your fuel tanks to explode.

I was kidding.

I asked the same question - he gave a good response here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...5&postcount=36

I think, given the way the sound is gonna kinda resonate out from under the car (using that exhaust cavity and then the space between the car and the pavement as resonators), it's not really gonna matter which way it points for volume / directionality. I can further attest to this, because I STILL have a headache this morning after playing with this thing inside my shop yesterday afternoon for 10 minutes. And I was "behind" it most of the time. It's deafeningly loud - in a good way.

Going to wash both MINIs today.
Our club is having a detailing clinic tomorrow, so Poco is going to get 1/2 his boot and bonnet fully polished and waxed. His boot has some swirls, and I want to show how polishing will remove them. After wash, wax removal, and clay, I'm going to Swirl, Amigo, Finnish, then Epic. I'll post pics later. Also going to haul some detailing supplies out of the basement as I think winter is done here.

like 30min later. idiots. why do they not come during the
weekday.

oh well. i was able to caldust most of it off and QD the dirt that flinged
up onto the panels. my legacy needs to be polished anyway this season...

Well I'm done the polish/wax of Poco, worked 2 areas, 1/2 the bonnet, part of the boot. I'll post some pics in a while, can't from this notebook yet.

I must say though, after working Swirl, the finish is very clean, squeaky clean, even the back of my hand with a light touch would not glide on it. But after the Amigo and Finish it was very slick to the touch, then the Epic made it like ice.

Woooo... turned out to be a beeeeeeautiful day here in central Maryland.

So I took the opportunity to bring Dr Evil into the garage and get him up on jack stands. Took off the wheels, gave the wheel wells a good scrubbing and then hit them with some Wizards. Looks much better. "

Oh, and while I was at it, I painted the brake calipers. <---that color.

Red calipers rock.

Gotta de-tar my wheel wells sometime soon... in preparation for some crappy car show coming up in the mountains. That I have NO chance of getting any respect at, because wetceal is gonna be there making us ALL look like puke.

Bought my CO2 tanks and regulator for my horn project today. And some wiring tidbits to re-wire my under-seat lighting the right way (vs. the half-azzed quick and dirty way I did it the first time)... but no energy or time to dive into that project. Did dust the pine pollen off the car - then drove in the rain. Club drive tomorrow...

OK, not the best pics, I was having a hard time with the sun.

I taped off a line down the middle of the bonnet, there are some swirls there.

You can't really see but after I was done, in person there is a big difference. I like the shiny sparkle stuff in this pic though

Again, in person, from this angle you can really tell the areas that were worked on.

I need to get some lights for this kind of stuff

I think the "before" side looked a little better. But really hard to tell.

Woooo, Mark, I do love that swirl free paint !! That's a good, deep reflection, too. Nicely done !! I'll be doing that in a couple weeks, for our big trip to the Dragon (can't show up in a MINI with any swirls!).

And look at Blimey being modest, like he doesn't have a shot at winning anything.

I was going to enter Dr Evil but my other half advised me she wants to go on one of those day runs that conflicts with it. Oh well, I'm the one really dragging her to the Dragon so it's the least I can do.

And yeah, Blimey, the red calipers really look nice with the red mirror caps and the red pins on the stripes. Ties it all together, even though with the S-Lites, you can't see too much of the calipers.

The shot with the tape in it is before I did anything, well wash, strip wax, clay. In person you can really see, and feel the difference between what was worked on and what was not.

ChiliPepJet, thanks
