Our Lab puppy (8 months) just ate my wife's iPod. Anyone want a Lab? She sounds real nice, but it will cost you $0.99/song.

Ouch. My co-workers' Rottweiler puppy ate his Blackberry. Twice. The user interface is a little tricky... you rub behind his left ear to scroll, and scratch his belly to delete...

So my new DIRT Guards got here yesterday. Ordered them from OctaneGuy on Thursday, very impresive delivery but I was to busy to try them out, weatherstripping doors, dealing with dogs and Bow Wow, er Black Wow.

This morning we get up and it's snowing So I wait for that to pass and the supposed sun and upper 40's temps. Well the snow stopped, but the clouds stayed, and the temps are around 38f.

Well I couldn't stand it, had to try them out, hauled out all the stuff, washed, Hydro/dried, froze my flipping fingers, but both MINIs are clean

Very impressed with the Dirt Guards. I poured the water out of the buckets slowly to see what was trapped below the guards/filters. Yuck, and neither MINI was really very dirty to start with.

They get a big from me

lotsie- good job!

rubber gloves help when washing cars in low temps.
i was contemplating if i should wash my dd's too yesterday, but
took the easy route... let the rain wash it tomorrow.

where is chows these days. he use to just leave his
bar soap on his sunroof before rain and called it car washing.

I use warm water in my buckets, helps with the washing, it's the drying that is cold.

but that adds another step of washing the garage floor afterwards
and squeegeeing it. if you don't, you got humidity under the car
for a while. i dont like humidity, neither does my cars and metal
parts.

I live in North Carolina. My car is acclimated to humidity.

I changed the oil in my minivan last weekend... does that count?
It was as un-fun as you can imagine.

I cleaned the air filter in my MINI, though! And the intercooler. Got all the sludge out.

at least on a MINIVAN you can do it without lifting the car.

i need to do my in-law's Solara pretty soon... i hear the filter is located
under and above the headers so it will be a pita to remove without
drippage. guess i'll do the GreatBear technique as i do on my MCS.

i had to clean my CAI filter last summer... was getting brown at the
point. how did you go about the intercooler? i use duct tape and masking
tape to remove the dead bugs....

I use vac and/or tape for the outside - I cleaned the INSIDE... pull it off, seal one end with a rubber glove and ziptie, pour in some Acetone, seal other end, and swish every which way for several minutes. Then drain and dry it out. You'll be amazed at how BROWN the acetone is that comes out... (oily air from the crankcase that gets injected into the intake path before the supercharger - why people use oil catch cans...)

29K on mine... it wasn't as nasty as I've heard some people suggest it would be... not nasty enough to justify an oil catch can, for sure. And really was MUCH quicker and easier than I expected. And FUN!

I've been building moving set pieces for 20 years, I'm the KING of casters Did you know it's not really a caster unless it swivels, if it does not swivel then it is referred to a a wheel, or mistakenly called a fixed caster, just a little tid bit of info
