I'm getting suspicious. When Blimey has any thing installed (new decal, arm rests, shift **** or even air freshener) we are privileged to view photos from every angle and distance - color, B&W sepia, a shot from the left, a shot from the right, top view, bottom view, a picture from the neighbors kitchen point of view and even a shot from the space shuttle.
But having won his first show - nada.
What gives?

In his defense, he's a very modest person.

So I've been installing cabinets in the laundry room, and yesterday I installed our laundry tub into a counter top. I wanted to clean the year worth of paint and crud that had built up in it. Once again Simple Green worked great, poured some into some water in the sink, let it soak about an hour, and it cleaned right up, looks like new.

I think kenchan is setting everyone up with "The Ken of..." by really pushing it because he's going to trademark it and make lots of money!

I didn't even notice MLWagner's Ken of Waffle Weaves until someone (forgot who now!) mentioned it... very funny!!

hi ken!

Thanks - the spec card was shamelessly based on MiniMaybee's... my "pageant coach"...

The guys in the mod forums hate us for the same reason you love us.

I had one tell me once, "Cut out the useless banter. If I want to be around happy people, I go to Disneyland."

Obviously you weren't there the day I went, solo, sans family (I was there for a conference). I rode the Indiana Jones ride 7 times in a row... and ate at the Blue Bayou. It was perfect.

Ooh, I liked that Blue Bayou good food for sure.
I rode Pirates like 7 times, but after ride number 3, I had to threaten the kids to get them to go again. I would have rode another 10 times but the threats became less and less effective as time went on and eventually they would have just preferred death.
See - this is the kind of useless banter we should eliminate.

One of the fun things about the car show was that most of the cars were classic American... lots of photos on my blog. So most of the guys there were classic guys, with engine bays that looked something like this:

or this

or this

All of which have enough empty space in them that I could curl up and take a nap in there with a family of cats.

So they had absolutely dumbfounded expressions on their faces when they stood, gawking into my engine bay...

Several times I had to trace the airflow path for them... some of the older guys just shook their heads in amazement at the concept of the air going from the left side, to the right side, to the left side again, and back right in the the engine, same facial expression the people had in "The Day the Earth Stood Still"...

And a lot of "what's that?"... "okay, but what's THAT?"...
It was a riot.

yah, especially those big eyes are staring at ya.

>"Cut out the useless banter. If I want to be around happy people, I go to Disneyland."

newbs keep asking the same things over and over and over and over
and over and over... which is fine.... so we
articulate our replies each time so that the same answers sound new
and different each time.

like RED BlackWow. how confusing is that? now people
are thinking there's a RedWow now? wat wat?

or Peachy Hydro. wat? there's a regular Hydro and now a Peach one?
wat wat? really, tell me, wat's the difference?

you have to buy a gallon to find out...

While I do sometimes feel badly for the newbie simply trying to find out some answers to questions amid the useless banter, I also think the useless banter gives this forum much more character and makes it a fun place to be!

Ken's examples were good ones though... funny and at the same time scary-true! Poor newbs.

That's why I almost always invite newbies to read as much as they can here and THEN call/email Richard or I for specific help and clarification. I think it ends up being the best of both worlds. R and I don't have to start from scratch with them and yet can really help clarify and condense the info.

BTW, I must say, the beauty of this particular thread is that it really has no point EXCEPT to provide space for useless banter amongst detailing OCDer freaks. (the freak part applies to some more than others!! ) Thanks to lotsie for the winter version and now the summer version. Maybe we need a seasonal random thread for some fun nonsense.

Cats!!

Okay, has anyone had this problem? After working very hard on my PW/B with all my new toys from Heather I had it looking beautiful. I even drove my beat-up old Maxima to work to keep my MINI out of the rain. Well, my daughter let the cat in the garage overnight and I have muddy paw prints and cat hair over the entire car. Then, I back it out and now I have cat poop stuck in the treads of my tire. Anyone want a cat? Anyone want a new daughter?

I'd trade my cats for lotsie's Lab in a New York minute. At least she would have let me know she was stuck in the garage.

Ruby is not for trade, but her scruffy sidekick Sadie might be for the right item, daughters not being one of those items
