yah, i dont do it either now a days and just not drive my MCS in the
winter and hit my dd's in the touchless wash. much less swirls.

if i lived at an apartment, i would definitely get that sprayer you're
selling.

re: Bug Sprayer
Years ago, there was a company called Action Hydro that marketed a large capacity bug washer. I purchased one, and tried to wash my '03 Cooper with it--and it was PAINFULLY slow...I mean, it took 3 times longer to wash using that system and I kept wishing for a "real" hose..so you can see that when I use the Nomad, it's a huge day and night improvement.

I tend to wash from the cleanest areas, to the dirtiest. Normally, roof, bonnet, sides, boot.

Well my first priority was in demoing the Nomad, lol. I actually rinsed from top to bottom cause I was wasting water rinsing, lol. If you run out of water, just fill up the tank, lol. Fill it from the tap or from a couple of jugs of water you brought with you. lol. You can actually add water with the washer on. You could potentially have a second 3.5 gallon wash bucket with clean water and pour that into the washer should it run low. =)

HAHA i'm j/k with you. the product looks awfully cool especially if i was going to do a mobile detail business.

my only question is what if you run out of water while doing a detail?

Same here - with the convertible, I wash windows first, then bonnet/front bumper, then sides, then boot. The convertible boot is one NASTY GRITTY thing... I cringe at the thought of getting any of that road/brake grit into my mitt or bucket before doing my bonnet.

The only reason I started with the boot first was because I had to drive into the scene and pull the Nomad from the boot, lol. For a very dirty car, I would use two buckets, and potentially two different mitts for the bonnet and boot, just the same as I don't use the body mitt for wiping off the trim.

blimey- hummm... good point. but wouldn't majority of your grit be washed away
during your initial wet down? i use strong spray mode too during this step.
then with the gritguard grill, should be safe?

i hit the wheels and trim first. i like to get that out of the way so i don't accidentally rub down the trim with my body mitt. i only use a 2 gallon bucket for the wheels that i put one ounce of shampoo in. when i'm done the rims and trims i just let get rid of the bucket and move on to the roof, sides, bonnet and boot in that order.

the griot's carwash is 1oz of soap per 2 gallons of water, so i just do
3 pumps.

most carwashes are 1oz of soap per gallon, right?

in other news...i think im going to hop on over to harbor freight this
afternoon to pickup a few things.

Blimey- hahaha

Hey, I drove over to HF and my FitS's oil change reminder came on so after shopping, im stopped here at the dealer to get my FREEEE! oil change. will take about 1hr they said.

I'm sure the techs will take my car out for a joy ride with the coilovers on there..thus the 1hr. wink wink wink.

Got my small vise, heatgun, rotary tool, doorpanel removal tool (plastic), crows foot. With tax only $60. wth's going on here?

Blimey- I got about 5K miles on the FitS. Got the car early Dec.

I wonder how long my HF tools will last though. but considering only light use, should last a long time.

Geesh. Those Honda guys sure do like to change the oil a lot, eh?

If I hadn't been doing "unnecessary" "in-between" changes, my dealer just did what would have been the second "officially needed" change on my MCSC at 29,000+ miles... funny how different the maintenance interval/story is between Honda and BMW, eh?

For the record, I know MANY more Honda owners with 200,000+ miles on their cars with no major repairs, than BMW owners with 100,000+ miles with no major repairs... hmmm....

Blimey- I'm not sure if Honda uses synthetic on the Fit's but next time I'm going to put some M1 in there and only change once a year or 10k miles.

Usually I don't go to the dealer for oil changes unless its free.

I hold the mitt. I don't know why I just do.

And I don't do suds either. I put two big squeezes of Mystique into the bucket after the water is in. I hate suds. They get everywhere.

Ok, I can hear my megan exhaust, but my car is nowhere to be found. I think after their joyride, they are washing my car.

Free dealer carwash is always nice!

I need to grab some lunch; I am very hungry.

In my experience, that is a synonym for "Free dealer swirl installation"...

BTW... just got my care package from ShowCarDetailing with OneGrip/PC Guard, paint swabs and Octane Gel... first try with the Octane. WOW!!!

It's awesome! I'm gonna buy it by the case..

Strange how it's about the same color and price as Black Wow... Hmmm...

Actually the stuff I put on my skin to infuse into my capillaries is LESS expensive than the stuff I put on my plastic trim... go figure...

Oh... and does anyone know what the two bolts are for that come with the OneGrip combo???
