I used to be a cross country ski instructor/coach, and gave clinics all the time. I have always found when I have to teach something, I learn more. It was a fun day.

turned out real nice.
and can see lotsie's dual bucket cart in action. cant help ourselves, but at the end it all turns into a Hydro advertisement.

jk jk lol
Wow... nice work, Mark!
So what do you predict the "conversion" rate will be for the folks who attended:
1) What percentage will care enough to use the two-bucket method?
2) What percentage ran right home and ordered Prima products?
3) What percentage will own a PC within 12 months?
4) What percentage were thinking the whole time "But the robowash only costs $7 and takes 5 minutes"?

I feel that most folks walked away with a real sense of the importance of detailing, and how to at least get started. Where folks go from the clinic is up to them, but the ones with the questions, wanting to get their hands on the PC, and showing a real interest, are going to hopefully be showing up on this forum, and joining in on our banter, and getting involved here.
I had fun, and I have always believed that if you want to learn something, show others how, and it really comes clear to you

Hey, Mark...are you getting tired of our lame jokes yet ??
Yeah, I'm sure your class is well on their way to being a whole group of OctaneGuys.
And I completely agree with you in that you learn more by teaching than you ever could by being a student. I used to teach a class in the Air Force and when I started, I thought I was an expert. I really wasn't but by the time I taught half a dozen times, I was.
I wonder if my DCMM club members would like a clinic on detailing. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

You all are welcomed to join me and my fellow MINI5280 members at Detailers Paradise on April 12 for a session on interior detailing. Taught by the Queen of Clean herself! We will post pictures and try not to taunt y'all too much with our flashy immaculate insides.
Did I even mention that they are just right down the street?

No snow here, but we could see some real severe weather tomorrow, heavy thunderstorms, tornado's.
I need to get one of those never kink hoses for the carport, I have one from Lowes for the garden hose, works great. I only need a 50 footer for the carport.
Now I'm going to finish Poco's bonnet, and boot. Only did 1/2 of each the other day, so I could show the difference at the clinic. Lois said I don't need to wash her car, as it's going to be raining for a few days, but I going to treat the roof, and start detailing the interior.

of course i just gave my car a great shine and we are going to get rain tonight. i'm looking forward to this weekend. i'll be doing my first full detail with the PC. i'll be sure to put up a real nice write up.
lotsie- yah, this time of season the weather is very unstable so we
need to keep an eye out for tornado's and hail around here too.
although we barely get tornado's, but we've had a few warnings last
summer.
hey, got the neverkink on my hose reel. if you use a hose reel, i suggest
you remove the plastic sleeve that comes with the hose. that thing made
the neverkink kinkup inside the reel. lol

i think im going to pull my MCS out to motor tonight.

Most hoses, never kink, or barely kink, or always kink
, tend to coil better the first time with water in them the first time. Just run them out straight, and if possible, have someone help get the twist out as you roll it up. Or if possible run warm water in it, that helps also.

lotsie-that's a great idea... actually, i did pressure up the hose with
the fireman's nozzle closed to straighten it out. then i let the water out
and rolled it up.
the plastic sleeve that i removed was too hard and too long. it protruded
too far out from the core of the reel forcing the hose to bend almost at
a 90 degree angle.

yah, i try to get as much water out of it before i wind it up mainly
for not having mold buildup inside the hose.
would kinda suck the next time you're filling your bucket you see
all this black gunk come out.
(not that ive ever seen such a thing).
i water the grass/bushes first, then wash the car. has dual benefits, plants gets
fed (well, sort of) and the dust stays put.
