Don't get me started on how all Asian countries are alike.

Not much you could say that would offend. US is practically same as Mexico now, anyway.

Yep. I'm trying to figure out what to buy. So far I have BG and a couple of Prima Skinnies in my cart. I need to look in my closet and see if Geoffrey's running low on anything.

We heard about it right after it happened, one of our crew has a friend on that tour and sent an email. Seems one of the cranes lifting the roof collapsed dropping the roof onto the stage. Scary stuff

I'm in Atlantic City this week. Tacky town

anyone detailing their cars this weekend? looks like 30-50% chance of rain so i *might* get to pull out my G, but if not i think im going to work on prepping my garbagio-drag wheels i was using before on my FitS.

i want to fix all the scratches and pitting and paint it
a dark graphite or maybe a matte black color for
snow's later on this year.

since there's only my G in the garage, i got ample space to
work. ... should i go get that S2KCR?

So... my compressor arrived by FedEx yesterday.

I get it out of the package and I see it's leaked oil in the box. Not a lot, but an ounce or two. So, I clean it up and get to reading the owner's manual which says it was shipped with an empty crankcase. Now I'm thinking I have a pre-used compressor.

I go ahead and put some oil in it, went through all the other pre-start instructions and start it up. They say to let it run 20 minutes with the valve upon on the tank to lube up the moving parts. It runs for about a minute and a half and abrubtly shuts itself off.

Won't re-start. Outlet is still good... didn't pop the breaker or anything. No obvious defects seen.

Blech.

Is there an breaker/thermal protection button on the motor, this may have tripped. You may have to wait for it to cool before it will reset. You could also pull the belt off, and see if you can turn the compressor pump by hand, keep the valve/drain open to do this. If it won't move, the piston may have seized. You could try and run the motor while the belt is off to determine if the issue is with the motor.

Another point about not draining tanks, besides causing the tank to rust prematurely, the water in the tank is also flowing through all the tools being used, which can really screw them up. I also recommend using air tool oil every time you use a tool. A drop in the connector is all it takes. You can also get inline oilers, and inline moisture traps.

Getting ready to go take off the engine housing cover to take a look, Mark. Thanks for the suggestions.

Dang, that sux CR&PW&JB

Keep at it, keep us posted how things go.

For me, this am went motoring my G and SpeedShined afterwards. was a nice drive until I went though a skunk fart barrier. it was so frikken fresh my G's interior smelled like skunkage after the drive.

so decided to wipe down the seats with LeatherCare Spray and kept the doors open for a bit.

Most of the smell went away.

Oh well... looks like this one will be going back. Took the engine housing cover off and there's nothing that appears wrong with it.

I'll call them on Monday and unless they give me some other things I can check out and try to get it going, I'll arrange a return. I'm so confident there's nothing else I can do, I went ahead and drained the oil out of it.

Ah well, I've lived without one this long......

Wow, Gorgeous day here in Maryland. Low 80s, light wind, not very humid at all. Hope you all are having a similar weather day.

yes, it could've been worse... like finding 3 skunks sleeping under your 3 MINI's and they all release at the same time.

hope you get a replacement soon. northerntools have been pretty good for me.

Yep... that would have been much, MUCH worse. Even one skunk would have been much worse.

Yeah, the more I look at that compressor, the more I'm convinced they sent me a used and reconditioned compressor. Not that those should fail either, but... you pay for a new one, you want a new one. And yeah, I've ordered stuff from them before so I don't expect a problem returning this one.
