yah, im aware of that thread. and as OG mentioned i agree that
Hydro is a more effective product vs amigo and i found out for
myself. remember i talk from experience.

im not bashing amigo, im just saying it's no magic product as it
appears to be.

I agree, and I don't think there are any. So besides that there are not any flying cars, as promised over 40 years ago, I'd like to know where the magic products are

oh, but one thing i do like about amigo is that it actually cleaned the
surface well. it removed like oil/tar spots that i'd usually remove via clay.

so if your cars are almost contaminant free like mine, you can probably
skip the clay process and use amigo as a cleaner while filling the micro
marring. not that's something to consider.

went motoring this am in my MCS while the roads were still a bit wet.
came back to a pretty filthy looking MCS.

took out my Griot's SprayOn CarWash and gave it a shot.
I wiped vertically instead of my usual horizontally to see if
it would do any swirl damage.

first off, the griot's green colored towel they include in
the kit is pretty awesome (less tag, you need to completely
remove it). the towel is fluffier than DP's Platnium but not
as fluffy as MonsterFluffy. so it's a easy towel to work with.

i sprayed liberally and wiped off the grit using only a clean
section of the towel. then went over it again with SpeedShine
at the very end.

Result: no swirling found even in the morning sun.
car cleans up very well. it's a great product.

Hey ken, interested in the Griot's Spray-on Wash. How dirty a car would you use it on? Also, you're convinced it's safe eh?

I think I may be able to get out the minor scratch I caused yesterday after I clay and Swirl it at the end of the summer. It isn't too deep.

Kind of like one of my girlfriends in high school - a real PITA, and not too deep.
Until then you can mask it somewhat using Hydro (don't try Amigo, ken says it doesn't work).

Man, this Hydro must be some kind of excellent. There's something about it almost everywhere on this site. Here I hear about Hydro, on the Hubby's Shelby GT500 forums all I hear about is Zaino. So fry me at the stake, I'm still using ICE! I guess I should purchase a bottle and try this Hydro stuff. It just seems so time consuming. I enjoy driving my Mini so much more than waxing it all the time. Some of the post here sound like folks are spending hours with their Hydro quite often. So what gives?

<Inserting stake in ground and building fire>
No one spends hours with Hydro. Just spritz on before you dry and then dry the MINI.

Haha. Thank God this scratch wasn't like one of my girlfriends in college. That's an upgrade in the worst way.

ICE is pretty good but its no where close to as good fit/finish/longevity wise as Hydro.

I think we spend hours talking about Hydro but the act of Hyroing takes ~10 minutes! However, some sleep with it next to their beds, so yeah there are those who spend hours with their Hydro.

i would use it on a car that drove through some puddles, dusty, and
some bugs.

my experience is that it is safe. I think the key here is that i used
quite a bit of product and only used the clean section of the towel.

yah, shouldn't take any more than a few min extra to use Hydro.

bascially you're just going to spray over wet panel and wipe dry with
your waffleweave drying towel.

Sounds like a plan. But unfortunately Im "at work".

Do you think I could just Swirl it by hand?

Swirl and ScratchX are almost identical. I think Swirl is a little more aggressive (read efficient) than ScratchX. You can try either by hand for sure, but don't use a too squishy pad. You want something with a little stiffness so it goes on even and spreads your pressure better.

Wash down with mystique and lambs wool mit and dried with my water blade, waffle weave, and hydro of course......

Then going to do some mountain biking after that

So Im at work looking out the window right now, envious of the beautiful weather. My MINI is parked literally 20 feet from where a dump truck and some sort of huge backhoe are working.
