I do my front lower grille, the back little black pieces on the bumper, and Drew's cowl vents (mine are chrome) with this stuff:

It's not BW but it takes about 10 seconds. And the master of BW himself taught it to me!

I'll be catching up with y'all tomorrow, hopefully. That is, after mowing the lawn and doing some other house chores.

Okay, just finished up with my trip around the convertible with the Swirl.

Man, do I love that four-inch backing plate and pads. I used that on both bumpers, parts of the boot, the door handle recesses, that tricky spot by the sideview mirrors and the areas by the cowl vents.

I'm tired and sore.

I was just gonna say the same thing - got the 4" plate and pads and used them for the first time yesterday. Work GREAT on the bumper and on the A-pillar and windshield header. Also great for spot touch-up where I found a spot on a door panel after I was all done today that needed a little wetsand and re-polish and re-Amigo and re-wax.

Oh yeah... so I usually tape my trim. This time I didn't - i slathered the trim first with BW as others have suggested. Well... I wish I had taped it. Several polish stains that won't come off... in the absence of the mythical Pre-Wow... next best option?

Yeah, I didn't trust the Slathering Of Black Wow technique so I taped. I spent way too much time trying to remove polish from the black trim in the last year to not tape again, as much as I hate that task.

The best solution I've found, Paul... Meguiar's Vinyl Cleaner #39 and a fine-bristled toothbrush (and a lot of elbow grease). Of course, you don't have time to order it and have that stuff off before you leave for MOTD.

You can just cover it up with BW for now and try that stuff later.

I may be able to get some Meg's 39 from the local FinishMaster store - where I buy my paint. I'll call tomorrow.

I got all the bugs off pretty easily---I had a fresh layer of Banana Gloss prior to the road trip.

Hydro'd and called it a day.

Tons of pollen as Mark mentioned.

I'm all congested and my eyes feel like they are going to pop out.

Blimey- vinegar might work(?). id soakup a towel and press against the arch. Hold it for 10min or so.

But this only works during the day in the middle of a parking lot with your pants down.

I did a google search earlier on this topic. On another forum someone suggested trying urine.

They had a guy about ready to go out and try it before they fessed up that they had no idea whether or not it would work...

I don't blame you, Paul. I'm sure that'll work just like a miniature PC buffer. Not to mention how much it'll save wear and tear on your elbow and shoulder.

This was my first real try of the 4" pads also, and I must say they are very easy to control in tight areas. Plus I'm getting used to OG's OneGrip, it helps with control, and there is way less stress on old body parts(mine, not the cars)

Raining here today, and most likely the rest of the week, hopefully this will help get some of the pollen out of the air.

how can that be? my pops forced(?) me to help
garden when i was a teen and hated it. i planted my
entire life's worth of tulips and other flowers i dont
know the names of. i call him the golfer and
gopher. his nickname is "GG"... means
grandpa in japanese for kids... actually "jii ji" but
it's close enough.

not to be mistaken by "Ji jiii." which means old fart.

"kuso ji jiii" means f-king old fart but let's not get too abrasive here.

yes, it actually works like a charm. yesterday
even came with the special blow drying for free
service.

so you guys talk about this 4ft pad. ok, the 4"
pad. dont you have to wrench the backing plate off
and then re-attached and then attach your 4" then
remove and re-attach your 6" plate when u want to
go back to your 6"? that sounds like PITA.

just get the Griot's 3" random orbital and call it a day.
it's good to be lazy and productive at the same time.

Yeah, Ken... it's a small PITA but well worth it, IMO. I can get to spots I can't polish with the 6" pads and it's a lot easier to completely cover some other areas.

I've seen that Griot's 3" buffer on their website and catalog... always thought it didn't look like it would stand up to a lot of work. Test it out for us and report back, please.

I don't mind wrenching the pads on and off. But what would be slick is if the PC had a spindle lock built in, rather than having to use a wrench.

so our company's HQ is telling all executives from HQ (japan) to come back due to the pigflu.

while we locals get to stay behind and die? WTF

i can guarantee you (unscientifically )that if that
flu is in the US, it is already in japan... will make no
difference. best way to avoid is to stay home and detail our cars.
that is our preventative action.
