Must be summer, busy here
do u guys remember a tamiya RC car called The Frog?
"No Guts No Glory" was its slogan. they are selling that
kit again still with that white and pink body.
not sure why they classified their (at the time) top of the
line RC off road buggy as having no guts no glory and
wearing girl cloths.

You know, I've got one in my garage at the house, that's going to be in garage sale soon. Has no motor and the speed control is melted, lol. Tires are old...I bought it for my brother when he was in college back in the late 80's and he eventually gave it back. His was green though, lol.
Yes, I've used it on matte painted parts and coated parts...works great. Makes the metal wiper arms new again. Nice discovery about Plasti dip.

that's cool. i think i might get the HotShot (had itback in grammer school) and it was a cool 4WD. i have ball bearings laying around somewhere for the entire car.
yah, ive painted mufflers using engine enamel matte black. works great. also painted the hubs on my MCS and FitS because i dont usually use center caps.
right now my MCS is wearing BBS's dressup wheel so using its caps.
Yeah... wear a 3M respirator... otherwise that VOC stuff will kill ya... I'm using commercial paint and a HVLP gun...
what's with all this healthy stuff? thought you liked living on the edge?

dang, all i use are rattle cans purchased at either paintscratch or paintworldinc... the same place that sells that PDR in a can stuff. PopWow.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. If you don't remove the wax/polish residue, it's going to come back. No matter what product you put on it.
If you're using BW and trying to remove residue...you should be "scrubbing" during the application using something relatively abrasive like a red shop rag or the seam of a MF Skinny applicator. Scrubbing it with a foam applicator or mf towel isn't enough.
As you're scrubbing, the applicator will turn black. That's a good sign you are removing the residue. If it's not changing color, you need to change your technique. You should keep scrubbing until the color doesn't come off.
You might also try putting on a liberal application, letting it presoak the trim, before scrubbing it.

I think something like a toothbrush might work better than a rag on the trim around the roof? That stuff is so abrasive, it seems to tear the crap out of just about any cloth product I throw at it, and then I end up with lint all over the trim. Ugh.
yah, i think they sell boar's hair toothbrushes (for humans, not cars
)
so see if you can find those.
i dont think you want to get too aggressive with
textures cause you'll end up with some smooth areas
which will look pretty werd.

Yeah, I mean, I'm not trying to scrape the hell out of my trim, it's just a pain. I could probably sand things with it.
A better question would be how does it work on removing white stains from black trim

Going to wash both MINIs today, even though it's going to rain on and off for the next few days here. The rain does seem to have put a stop to the pollen.
May do some interior detailing, along with engine bays.

Got the Clubman all detailed yesterday. Those smaller pads work great on it, as the Clubbie has way more nooks and crannies. It also takes way more time to work on it, bigger, more edges/openings. I think I may have to start charging Lois a higher rate
Going to get a coat of Banana Gas, I know old R&D name, but I like it more, on both of them today, do some more interior stuff done. Tomorrow, rotate and wax the wheels.

I think I'm going to take a pass on doing wheels today, need a break from working on the cars. Going to go for a motor in Poco, go to a couple of garden centers, need to pick up some grass seed, and a couple of hanging baskets. My hands have not been in soil for a few days, need to feed my other addiction

Just home from MOTD... rain, rain, rain, rain and rain. With brief periods of dry. Stayed dry long enough for the car show
But otherwise, pretty darn wet. Didn't reduce the driving fun for me (maybe increases it, actually)... but car is a mess and <gasp> I really don't care, I'm so tired.
It'll get clean next weekend when I'm back from a business trip.

Just got back home from MOTD. Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. Could not keep the MINI clean for more than 10 minutes.
And now, after an 11-hour trip in the rain, it is a MESS !! The front wheels no longer appear to be silver. They look like they are gunmetal. No kidding ! They look pretty good in that color, actually.
Had a great time, even in the rain. The Darkness on the Dragon run was a BLAST !! Wow, we hammered the Dragon on that one. My left knee is still sore from banging up against the door so much.
Also had Way Motor Works install a 15% SC pulley and a stainless steel cased Cold Air Intake. The intake is nice but that pulley....
.... SWEET.
So, good trip. Looking forward to MOTD8 already.
And Paul.... I was looking for you during the Car Show but could not find you. Blimey was looking good ! Loving the aero bumper, but it looks like that lower grill is a challenge to paint. And Roxanne.... the thing she liked most about your MINI was the chrome skull shift ****. Go figure !

I washed the Mini last week, and then on Friday evening we had about 10 minutes of rain. The rain beaded perfectly on my Amigo'd, Epic'd, BG'd Hydro'd paintwork, which, once dried, ended up looking like this:

Here's how the roof and hood were looking:

So, I quickly filled up my Nomad with some distilled water and sprayed the car all over. A lambswool mitt and bucket of distilled water with just a touch of Mystique was enough to get her clean again. Hydro with a waffleweave was enough to get everything dry and shiny again:

For extra kudos, I then went and installed a lamp in the 'rear fog lamp' enclosure, and fitted a new toggle switch panel that has all six toggles onboard

My MINI looks like this right now.

All I got to do for the MINI this weekend was replace the wipers. I drove in the drizzle today and the clean wiping action of the new blades made me feel better.

Nice save with the distilled water
