Sorry, didn't notice this post until today!

I'm in the Navy, and was stationed in Suitland, MD for the past 3 years. I finished that tour, and now will be stationed in Ft. Meade, MD for another 3 years! I'm in P'cola for a school for that next job. Assuming I don't royally hose up any tests (and so far so good), I'll be back in the area mid-September!

I saw an ORANGE/blk MCS!!, 2002-2004

The car was about the same colour as the local yellow cabs. Not at all like the factory orange that you can see on a MCSC. The car has the two spoke rim 16" factory rims and looked very stock.
The color looked great on the car! Two very big to who ever did the work.

The car was parked next to my MINI outside Tara Thi in Falls Church last nite (22 Jan about 7:30).

White Mini @ Sheetz station Tuesday night, near Winchester VA

You were the blonde female swapping wiper blades at the Sheetz station @ Rt. 50 and Rt. 340. Your car is a white Mini (non-S).
Your car had DC plates on it and we courteously shared the ride back down 50E, Rt. 17 and through the construction traffic on I-66 at Manassas back towards DC. I noticed the upgraded brakes/exhaust and had asked you about Summit Point. I thought maybe you'd see this here.

I was in the dark grey GTO at the next pump. Anyone know who this might be? Shoot me an email/IM

(Yes, this is shameless.)

Mike

I know it was you - Mother of MINI PURL.

Saw a long time DCMM member in Arlington late Thursday night. Pulling out of her street in MINI PURL - the lovely silk green Cooper. Hope you know the person honking and waving frantically was me!

Speaking of seeing things, has anyone else seen the rear cover of July's Reader Digest? Something oddly familiar about the painting and I don't mean the huge dog.

Went to the Eastern Shore today and back. Saw a bunch of MINIs, but only got one or 2 waves. Most drivers have their heads up and locked forward with no side vision whatsoever. Even a flash of hi-beams doesn't get their attention. Such a pity.
Talked to a Lotus driver yesterday and he admitted that the Lotus was one of the few cars that could keep up with the MINI. Said he has been on the DRAGON. Woo-Woo!!

I parked next to a Red MCSc at the Vienna metro station this morning (south lot). Yep - in one of those "parking spots that used to be a parking spot, but both the lines and the cross-stripes are so faded you can't tell which was which" and promptly got a ticket for my pains since it obviously wasn't a spot. *sigh*.

I suppose I thought the ticket officer might have found the two MINIs parked side by side funny and withheld writing me the ticket. Nope, so not only did my joke fall flat, but it also cost me $40. Oh well. At least I got to my conference (sort of) on time. Did I mention how much I hate the Metro?

We have been absent also from mini stuff (except for autocrossing) for the past couple of years. Glad to hear you are still around and driving that little purl around.

Today at 11:30 AM I saw a Dark Silver MCS parked in the Democracy visitors parking lot in Bethesda (6707 Democracy Blvd.). Currently looking out the window and it's still there

Right rear window has a red dragon decal, and vanity MD plates.

Travelling East bound on Route 68 last night - Chili Red MSC with Colorado tags. Thanks for the big wave!

And glad that you could recognize I was driving a MINI under the fourteen layers of mud all over the car. Isabelle ended up off roading by accident this weekend....our campsite was a one hour drive from the main road over fairly poorly maintained dirt and gravel roads. I think I have an undercarriage left, not sure......
