I considered honking, but I didn't want to distract him too much. I tried to wave as I turned into my parking garage, but I don't know if he saw.

There is a LY/W MC that crosses Key Bridge every weekday going into VA as I am crossing going into DC. We have probably been passing each other for six months now. We are always in the far lanes of our respective sides of the bridge, so I can never get a wave in!
I saw a Mini (can't say what color, whether or not it was an S, or any other features) last night around 9:15 or so when headed off of Briggs Chaney to 29 N in Silver Spring; they were about to head on to Briggs Chaney from 29 and were stopped at the light and caught me by surprise when I was making my turn.
Southbound Route 2 in Edgewater
Southbound Rt 2 to Mayo Road, JCW at about 6:15 pm., License Tag "MCHBXKR". Nice! Tag took me a couple minutes to figure out. I was in the AB/S you just had to catch up to and give the thumbs up
saw a LY/B MCS on snowden river pkwy in columbia today at around 5:30pm. They turned into the Red robin.
a little later spotted an IB/W with checker roof in the ****'s shopping plaza on dobbin rd. I saw him park, and i had just gotten out of my MINI. went up to him and said hi. i told him i drive a MINI as well, and he said oh that's yours. I said yes. We talked for about 30 seconds and he had to hurry into ****'s.

I saw an Intrepid Naval Aviator driving his Black convertible yesterday morning towards Patuxent Naval Air Station on a BEAUTIFUL SUNNY morning with the top in the UP position. If I could have done a u-turn and caught him, I would have put him on report for violating a MINI-USA regulation.
If you have a convertible and it isn't pouring or way below freezing, the top should be down. You can always comb your hair or wear a hat.

Wednesday evening..driving through DC. Got a friendly wave by a BRG/W MCS. The woman then pulled up to us and said, "nice car". So we followed her to the next red traffic light, where I got out and gave the woman a DCMM card!

They had the top up.
saw a nice HB/W MCS with viper stripes and VA "actual size" plates at the Highland Park Pool on Sunday. Didn't have a chance to wave, but admired the car as I was coming in and leaving.
There were to HO/Blue MCS cabrios in the Carlyle area outside of old town Monday morning. Neither seemed interested in waving.

Yep, Jim and Ellie were in the 3 1/2 foot section of the pool. Ellie was trying her best to do a handstand underwater, Daddy (Jim) was just taking it all in.
Guess I better get a detail job done, my Indie Blue is now starting to look like the Hyper Blue.

Thursday around 4pm, was on snowden river pkwy sitting at the light for Oak Hall Ln to turn left onto it. I think it was IB MC that pulled up to the light on Oak hall ln. So they were facing straight at me. They saw me and started pointing at me. I waved, and i got a couple friendly waves back!
Friday, was on 29 N between 175 and 108 at about 3pm, saw a PW/B MCS. Pulled up next to them and saw a woman with her childen in the car. Tried to wave, but she didn't see me yet. so pulled ahead of them a little until they saw me. then they pulled up to me and honked and waved.

Saw two yesterday in the parking lot of Harris Teeter, everyone was driving out as I was coming in. PH/W Cooper and a EB/EB MCS
A BRG/W MCS with stripes followed me from Russel Rd. to Callahan and made a right hand turn onto Duke St. where I make my left hand turn to go to the office. Once I was in the left lane, I slowed and he pulled up beside and for the first time, I had to respond to a wave!
Semaphore Wave
Reading the snubbing comment inspired a Google Search based on "Automobile Semaphore" aka the pre 50's turn signal indicator that extended from the side pillar on the side of the vehicle in the direction of the turn ... and this is what I find;

What do you think? Modify so you have a pop-up waving hand on the roof? Motorize it and make good use for the unused steering wheel control button on the pre 2005 cars?
I'm just "swinging-back" at the snub effect. That's all.
6:50 AM 8/22/2006 JB/W Hood Striped MCS, Westbound 66 to the Dulles Tollroad extension, then left me for the Inner Loop of 495. Wave, no response.
