Saw a Classic Mini while driving thru Baltimore on Saturday night, around 11:30 PM.

Couldnt tag it, busy driving and taking pictures.

Interesting too in light of the fact that I saw a classic sitting on NY Ave. near Big Ben Liquors on the way down to Mark's on Sunday. <cue eerie music> It was red with white stripes and and had an imitation British license plate on the rear that said "MINI COOPER". No front plate, but a pair of driving lights. RHD, I believe, but I was driving so I couldn't make out a lot. It was more modern, though (no outside door hinges) and in really nice shape.

 

Nice one Sally! I hope that wasn't your big camera you caught that with!! That would be just tooooo much to hold on to while driving!

 

Actually , It was the big camera! I drove pretty well.
As you can see in the pictures, my Mia is well within the lines!

Saw a RG with silver bonnet stripe and driving lights driving west on Eisenhower Ave (Alexandria) at noon today. I waved but I was actually running the opposite way on the sidewalk near the street. I must have looked odd in my sweaty running clothes waving at somone I didn't even know. No response.

Last week I saw a CR MCS cabrio heading south on Kenwood Ave. (Alexandria) I was in my new MCS and I got a sucessful wave exchange from a brunette female.

While returning from Towson going West on the SE SW highway Saturday July 15th, I was alonside a SB/S MCS a couple of times before heading over the river into VA. I gave a thumbs up and I couldn't tell if I got a response.

UPDATE: Thursday morning I followed a CR/W with white v-spokes (2003 or 2004? the clock was up by the rear view mirror) from Duke street into the Carlyle complex. I wasn't sure how to wave to someone ahead of me.

 

I happened to come up right behind our First Gentleman (Michael Oakes, Jen's husband) in his IB/W MINI this morning... he was turning onto Williams drive, which is the street that my office was on. Since I was in the loaner BMW 325Ci, he probably didn't notice or recognize me.

I considered honking, but I didn't want to distract him too much. I tried to wave as I turned into my parking garage, but I don't know if he saw.

 

I did a double-take seeing another LY/B Cooper S that also had black bonnet stripes too in my rear-view mirror while driving south on 29 at about 6:15pm today... I was all ready to wave and put my Mini Messaging Kit to good use when they pulled off towards 198... oh well...

 

Desperately seeking.... the girl in the hyper blue MC who turned onto Route 107 in Wilton Monday at about 6:15pm. I was in the other hyper blue MC going north on Route 7 as you zipped by me on my right.

Sunday I finally caught up with a local MINI driver in Bowie that I have seen for over a year. She drives a 02-04 AB MC CVT w/ white bonnet stripes. I was able to speak with her and tell her of the club. It practically made my day!

 

About 15 minutes ago I waved at a grey MCS with the license plate "ROXORZ" pass by me in stop-n-go traffic on 50...

I saw a PW convertible going through the gates of one of the multimillion dollar estates down the street from my house. This estate is rumored to belong to Michael Jordan. If you're out there..can we come over? We'll be your new bestest friends ever!

 

last tuesday, saw a DS\DS checkmate in between laurel and beltsville on rte. 1 heading south towards beltsville. I rolled down the window and tried waving, but he didn't see me. then i pulled ahead of him and then he noticed me. he rolled down his window and waved back.

last thursday saw SB/S MCS in the dobbin center parking lot in columbia. if i knew how you guys were tagging these MINI's i would tag them.

Today saw a LY/B MC with yellow towels around the seats in the ****'s shopping center on dobbin rd in columbia.

 

Tagged, and parked next to an AB/AB Cooper CVT in DC on Friday night. Except for the metallic paint and slightly different wheels, we looked like twins!

 

Spotted a CR MC (didn't pay attention to roof color) on the outer loop of 495, between 50 & 66. This was last night around 10:15pm. It had a license plate of "SUV ETR", so of course I had to pull in front of them to show them my plate too.

Tried to give thumbs up and wave, but it was dark so I'm not sure if they saw well.

Was fun to share the moment!

Saw a SB/S MC with the U-stripe on the inner loop of the beltway between Georgia Ave and the 95 exit yesterday afternoon. I slowed down and changed lanes so she could pull up beside me and then I waved. She just passed on by.

 

Saw an SB/S MCS Checkmate westbound on I-70 in Frederick County, MD on Saturday early afternoon...Virginia plates.
