My car was on the Undine, and i suspect it wont make it to Albany, NY till Weds. I am going to bug my MA tommorrow for details.

 

Hi! I'm not sure what boat my mini was on but I'm in Albany too. My MA from Keeler mini called Friday afternoon and said the mini would be delivered late Friday or Saturday. I'm going to drive by this afternoon to see if it is there.

 

I was just surfing around trying to figure out what else I can afford to buy before Moe comes home... and I realized.. do the rest of you west coasters realized we only have 2 more weekends w/o our MINIS? (for me thats only one more paycheck... well maybe. WEEEHA!

Yes, and the garage is almost cleaned out! Fortunately, there is a lot of room left in front of where Basil will be sleeping, so a lot of stuff can live there! Yet another advantage of Mini ownership

 

Just checked the K-Line and POC web sites. POC still has Frisia as docking on 10/05, but the K-Line schedule has been updated and says it will be in Charleston on 10/04. Looks like we may be getting bumped up a day!

I wouldn't be too excited with Isaac out there we may just need that extra day to keep our Mini's safe and sound.

So is my Mini's...I crawled out of bed on Saturday and Hubby (big grin on face) drags me out to see with a measuring tape that yes, with the garage cleaned, Tahoe pulled in tight to the wall...yes, yes...there is room for Mini to sleep soundly each night! I still can't convince him to sell that Tahoe but whatever.... ha ha ha...

Were you ever able to get any more details? I sent an email to my MA on Saturday with a few specific details I was hoping to get and got a reply today with a very general "It's right on track and should be here and ready for pick-up on the 15th or 16th." The 15th is a Sunday ans I doubt they will be open.... The lack of detail and attention to detail frustrates me. I guess it's just business as usual for them, but they don't seem to understand that if they feed our fanaticism about the cars and the motoring experience (which begins when you place your order) it will only increase the buzz and word of mouth advertising, and bring them more business. Mini Corporate seems top get this - they spend a huge amount of marketing money on stuff targeted at people who already own Minis!

My MA sent me an email this morning - Basil's ETA for delivery is 10/21.

I guess it takes 11 days from tying up at the dock to get down the freeway to Irvine, but there is all that quality control stuff. I think it's just an excuse for the folks at the VDC to go for a joy ride in my baby.

Has anyone had any luck in tracking the Pegasus Leader? Not hearing much chatter from my fellow left coasters....

so, my husband just called me from work (right after i finished reading your post) ...saying that our MA called him to say that the boat gets in on the 5th and the car should be at their dealership by the 12th...and he just wanted to go over some of the options we discussed earlier when we put in the order...and confirm everything... so you should be getting a call from them soon so you can actually talk to a human...i hope...(keeping my fingers crossed for you)

 

Holy toledo, such long wait times. My MINI docked sometime on Thurs/Fri and is supposed to be at the dealer on the 3rd! Can't pick it up till the 12th though.. (that's when my vacation is) :(

 

I haven't gotten an ETA yet but my heart is hoping for that same weekend... Figure if the cars can get out of Dodge fast enough they'll truck on up in one day, since there's nothing to install (only ordered the Aux and the floor mats which I'll to both myself) it shouldn't take long to "prep" and the dealer is ony 30mins away...

 

My dealership told me that I should be able to pick my mini up on Oct. 11-12-13. I just realized that I might actually be driving my mini by next Wednesday. Holy Crap!!!

I'm trying not to get my hopes up though. It gets into SC on 10/5 and has to make it home and get stripes installed and all cleaned up yet. Can that all happen in a week?

 

I got a message on my machine from my MA today... I think my new JCW is here!!!!
It was too late to call him when I got home from work, so I plan to call him tomorrow.

Let's see who get's their MINI first! Have Irvine MINI throw in a free Ipod adapter...they did for me and our first two MINIs.

As for my nameless mini...talked to MA yesterday. :( Mini's been in SC since 9/30 but according to MA, Mini STILL doesn't know how to handle the VIN mess ups!!!!!!!! The debate is reVIN at distribution center or do it at the dealership!!!! They say they should have an answer in two days. Until then....people are waiting...my dealer has another VIN mess up that's been sitting in SC for WEEKS!!!! He's not a happy buyer right now...

 

My MA called this AM that my Mini is being loaded on a truck as we speak and transport time is " an hour" from Newark to Princeton. They need 24 hours to prep and I can pick it up possibly Friday. Sorry about the long wait for you west coasters. You'll be driving your cabrios in alot better weather this winter than us easterners though.

 

Anyone have an update on the Frisia? I've seen postings on the Charleston shipyard site anywhere from the 4th to the 8th.

Port of Charleston schedule shows arrival on 10/05. K-Line schedule (last updated on 9/29) states 10/04. My MA gave me an update yesterday saying it would come in on 10/05. I've been watching the observation tables on oceanweather.com to see if I could get a Lat/Lon listing for 3EAF4 (her call sign) but have not seen it come up. That's about all I know.

I didnt get to see her yet (I was at the dealer with my current MINI), but I talked to my MA and have started the process of getting the dealer installed options started. Dropped off some parts I had preordered.

Looks like I'm out of luck. The dealer made a mistake and ordered my car without the multi-function steering wheel and didn't tell me until yesterday. My options were: take the car as is, minus the price of the multi-function steering wheel...or wait another 5 weeks for a new one to be built. I chose to wait because that's a pretty important feature to me, plus I added an anthracite headliner this time around. I am not paying for the steering wheel, though. God knows what week this puts me in.

To quote our former president - I feel your pain! Was this a dealer screw up or factory? I think I would hold out too - I've gotten used to the controls on the steering wheel on my current truck.

 

It was my MA's fault because it wasn't on the invoice under options and they're the ones who order the car. The factory almost never makes these mistakes or any kind similar.
