Production Week 37 (September 11) Support Group
At least you got the programming options via email. Irvine Mini must think we don't want to be bothered by all this confusion.....
Damn i called my dealer today. My MA was out so I talked to someone else and they gave me the bad news...my expected delivery date is the 28th not the 20th now. Thats bs it cant get through port in a week.
Thanks rachaelstarr. My MINI was on the Pegasus Leader and I went through Crevier. My MA initially told me that my MINI would be in dock on the 11th and at the dealership by the 18th. I am hoping that it speeds through the VDC too but they have to install my JCW suspension so I don't know how long that will take.
Has anyone else gotten the programming options for their MINI yet? My MA sent me a fax last week with possible programming options.

I dont understand what took so long. My estimated delivery date is the 29th now so that means it took 15 days from the time it landed in port till the time it got to my dealership. Thats horrible!!
Just got off the phone and my car is invoiced to arrive today. They had a delivery yesterday so he should be there!! I have no dealer installs so I should be ready in the next day or so.. I hope its sooner!
my baby's already so dirty...i need to give her a bath soon...there's been so many things to do since i got her that i still haven't had anytime to do any detailing...sighhhh
I can almost see Port Hueneme from here (not really), and I'm still a week out after the Pegasus gave up her cargo almost 2 weeks ago.... grrrrrrrr.
Woo Hoo?
Could it be? Just a couple of days after being told that Basil would be delayed a week, I received an email from my MA (responding to my email questions) telling me that Basil is at the dealership, and they will install the ipod adapter today, so I can pick it up tomorrow! This about 3 minutes after I paid the $40 to put an ad in the autotrader for my suv, thinking that I had another week to sell it....
Dang excited!
Just need to finalize the financing - sent application to the Alliant Credit Union today via fedex - hope it's not too late, or the nice folks at Irvine can swing some kind of deal on the financing... Hopefully I will have to change my signature some time this weekend, if I'm not too busy motoring!!!!

If you have to, you can always take the financing offered by the dealer... get the check from Alliant and walk back in the dealership and pay the sale price thus negating the original financing. Thats what I did with my CU before the started the direct lending program (they work directly with the dealer now so I just say call my CU).
Ahhhhhh! A rock hit my windshield today and chipped it!!!!
My poor baby!
Honestly, I cried. I know things could be a lot worse but it's my new MINI! Everyone keeps telling me that it's just a car and these things happen but it's not just a car...it's a MINI! I know you guys understand.

Homer - Congrats! It really sounds like your MA is related to mine. Whenever I would ask for information his replies were highly inaccurate, and often he would give very vague answers that made me think he either didn't understand the question or didn't have time to find the real answer. I can look back in amusement now, but I was getting very frustrated during the process. Here's an example - he offered free window tinting when I ordered the car, and I accepted. Then when I sent him an email around 6 weeks from the order date letting him know I wanted the tinting at 35%, he replied with an email asking me to call him to order the tint and he would let me know how much it would cost. I called him to reminded him of the gratis offer and he said he had found his notes and yes, the tinting would be free. A couple of weeks later when I expressed my high disappointment that the car wouldn't be delivered by the date he had stated he made me an offer to ease my disappointment - free window tinting....
Glad to hear Basil is finally coming home!

Well.. grrrr Kristina said that MOE was arriving yesterday.. my MA was off.. he said today that she shouldn't have given that info cause it wasn't updated.. that MOE is due to them tomorrow..if he comes today they can prep and inspect and I can have him tomorrow but they can't inspect tomorrow (service not open on Sundays) so if he comes tomorrow as he's "supposed" to I will get him Monday.... I guess I can wait a day or two......
Mini Music
On the test drives and ride-alongs I did before placing the order for an MCS of my own it was very easy to notice the exhaust note and supercharger whine during heavy acceleration. But I have been plesantly suprized by the rumblies and pip-pops that come from the exhaust when letting off the throttle while shifting gears or decelerating. I hadn't heard that before. It makes the car sound like a real brute!

My little silver bomb should be at the dealer on Monday and I am scheduled to take delivery on Tuesday morning. Unfortunatly, I can only play with it for the rest of the day and have to go out of town Wednesday for four days. Such is life.
