oh my god!

hi there again everybody!

it's been really crazy since i picked up my baby on saturday...we had a housewarming party that night and spent the whole sunday recovering from a bad hang over and our phone line was busted on monday because of bad weather ...but here i am...my internet connection is back! so there's still no pics of my baby due to her undesirable condition after a bad storm over the weekend...i gotta give her a bath before showing her off...i've been looking for excuses to take her out and finally today's the day!

Wylie,

congratulations! you finally did it! (or should i say our MA made it!) if you're not happy with your wheels...i'm willing to trade them with you! hahahhaha...i have the S-lites that you wanted! are you kidding? i'm dying to get any wheels that are not the S-lites! i just couldn't afford them...i made my decision when i decided to go with all the packages instead of different wheels!

Aaarghhhhh

Delayed a few more days.

MA sent an email announcing the lack of control on trucking companies, etc.

This might actually help me - I'm thinking about trying to sell my suv on ebay. Has anyone heard any good stories or horror stories about selling cars on ebay?

Gorgeous Ladymini! Congratulations.. my car is arriving at the same dealer as KissmyS on Friday but no date for pick up yet. I tried to cajole my MA into squeezing me into a weekend appoinment but its not likely.

I like the wheels..they are unique. I think you should keep them, but ultimately do what your gut tells you.

I'll have pics of my MINI shortly. We finally had a nice day today (I think Milo was wondering if the sun ever came out over here in the states ) but he got pretty dirty from all the left over rain on the roads. I'm planning on giving him a bath and wax this weekend (if the weather holds out) and then I'll post pics.

ladymini,

Are you kidding? The S-lites were what I was settling for - not what I wanted! Just like you, I figured the package was a decent way to go and didn't want to pay the dealer or factory price for a wheel upgrade. I was just caught totally off-guard by the look of the Flame Spokes. My plan was to keep the S-Lites until the run-flats wore out, then get a wheel/tire package from Edge Racing or a similar discount retailer. I really don't think it would make sense to get rid of the Flame Spokes just to get S-Lites. It's just taking me a while to warm up to their unconventional look. They are significantly lighter (about 3 lbs each) than the S-Lites.

I saw the pics of your Space Blue Mini - sharp car, even with the S-Lites . I'll keep an eye out for you while motoring through the Metroplex. There is a 'Sightings' thread on the Metroplex Mini site where you can list who, what and where you spot fellow motorers; if I see a space blue S I'll post a where and when, and you can post whether you were there at that time. It's pretty cool to get spotted! I like the U-stripe . Did you see the fleet of Space Blue Coopers at Moritz? There were about 9 of them parked in a row when I picked up Minimus on Monday.

Happy Motoring!

thanks eenieMini! you hang in there! you dealer must be very busy then coz mine came in last thurs and my MA called me and asked me if i wanted to just pick her up even though there was a few things they still had to install...so what i'm saying is that you should be able to just pick Moe up at least the next day at the latest! very nice color combinatin by the way! that's exactly how i fantacized my baby to look like for a long long time until i spotted the space blue on my dealer's lot...although i still secretly wish that the white wheels would go well with my space blue...

awwww...i'm so sad now...i was hoping that you'd say yes! hahhahahahhaahha! that's a very nice surprise to have indeed...i wish they'd made that kinda mistake on my car...i seriously hoped on the day i picked mine up that they had screwed up something on my baby (with something cool of course)

yeah the "sightings" is something i haven't checked out! i really should join metroplex mini site soon...that's a really cool idea! although i didn't get very good responses waving at 2 fellow motorers they gave me a "you're weird" look when i stuck out my hand and did a big wave...they're not very friendly my theory is that they'd bought the "car" off the lot and did not have to go through the waiting process so they're not as enthusiastic as we all are! how boring! i think to them a mini is just a car...very very sad...

anyway, yeah i saw that fleet of space blue coopers (are they just coopers or the S's?) what's up with that...i think moritz just ordered them because the color is quite rare and they're discontinuing the color for the '07 or something...

Homerwest-

I am going to do a spray-on clear bra that covers the entire bonnet, bumper, and mirror caps - costs $950. I only decided to go with the spray on after I saw the product on another CR MINI...no visible lines.

I am actually getting the clear bra spray-on and medium tinting done for $1100.

Regular 3M clear bra film installed with tinting totalled $650.

There is no cost to join the MM internet forum. There is a fee to be a full member of the club, and members get enhanced use of the forum including capabilities to upload photos to personal and the public galleries. They have a monthly meeting here in Flower Mound - you don't have to be a member to attend. And it's pretty cool to see 30 - 40 Minis all parked in a row. It'll be even cooler now that one of them will be mine!

Yes, there seem to be two kinds of buyer/owner: one that just bought it because they thought it was a cute, affordable car (these rarely wave back, usually it's 'all about them '); and one that researches and understands the uniqueness, history and abilities of the car - and who appreciates the sense of community that exists within this group of like-minded individuals (these usually go out of their way to wave, unless it puts their Mini and other motorers at risk.) Keep waving, I know you're that type of owner!

They are part of a fleet of Space Blue Mini Cppoers (non-S) that were ordered by a business in the DFW area. I think Mr. MA said they ordered 50 and are receiving 10 or so per month.

Fergie is home!

What a great buying experience I had with Century MINI! It was far superior to any other experience I've had purchasing a vehicle, including my previous BMWs...amazing that MINI is the same company and the service is awesome given that the product is tens of thousands less expensive!!!

Anyway, I took delivery with only 7 miles on the clock. As parting gifts, the center put on the rear bumper protector, gave me the sunvisor CD holder, a quart of synthetic oil in a zip-up leather pouch, and 2 keychains. I read another thread where some people got more stuff, but that's okay. I am entirely grateful for what was unexpectedly provided.

My wife and I were so excited to pick up the car that we didn't take as many pics as we would've liked...here 3 of the 5 we took. I will post more "exciting" pics that I plan to take while slaying the Dragon this weekend.

Well Week 37ers, it's been fun waiting...I'll see you in the other threads!

Aggie - I've had my MINI now for 7 days, and today I noticed a chip on the bonnet down to the metal too! Stinks! And, if I had a clear bra (which I don't have yet) it wouldn't have helped, because it is higher up on the bonnet.

Picked her up on the 12th, a month to the day of her finishing production, and have driven 1410 miles so far. Loving every mile of it, she looks awesome and is a total blast to drive. Had my alarm activated yesterday. It's tiny little beep is pretty funny to hear.

I'm in Iowa on vacation right now, but will post pics when I get home next Friday! I'm trying to find a place I can bucket wash my MINI here, but its 41 degrees outside today.... A bit cold.

Have fun motoring and I hope the wait isn't too much longer for those who haven't taken delivery yet.

Get some touch up on that right quick. Or a tiny bit of lacquer nail polish if you don't have access to touch up. Then use Langka to flatten the touch up blob and make it disappear: http://www.langka.com

My MA called me today to let me know that my MINI had just gotten off the ship today!

The ship actually arrived at the port on the 14th - 5 days to unload. Now my MINI's scheduled arrival to the dealership isn't until the 28th.

Thanks rachaelstarr. My MINI was on the Pegasus Leader and I went through Crevier. My MA initially told me that my MINI would be in dock on the 11th and at the dealership by the 18th. I am hoping that it speeds through the VDC too but they have to install my JCW suspension so I don't know how long that will take.

Has anyone else gotten the programming options for their MINI yet? My MA sent me a fax last week with possible programming options.
