Today was the first day I got a good response.

 

Pat, wannabdriven posted on this thread and gave a link that tells you step for step how to find out if your mini is on a ship and the name of that ship and dates/ ports/ and so on,,, I think it is on this page too.
Just go to the auto cargo choice and type in your VIN and then click on the ships code and it will tell you all. Funny, I knew on Dec 2cnd that my mini set sail and today I got word from my MA this very same info, so this link really is accurate!!

Is that the WW freight carrier or all? As I understand it the cars can go by other carriers as well.

Pat, from the WW schedule, I don't see any boats taking our cars to the west coast for a few weeks. Because of that, I'm thinking we're on K-Line..and unfortunately we can't track that...I'm going to wait until next week (IF I can wait) and ask my MA to look it up for me. We're likely on the same boat.

 

Mine will probably be on their too, since mine (Sliver is her name) was released to distribution today and will be heading for the west coast

 

That's a shame. My wife's car was on the boat that just left on the 2nd via WW. One would have thought that since they left the factory at the same time that they would make it on the same ship. It will be interesting to see how much time there is between deliveries of the cars. Or maybe MINI will hold the one in California until the other catches up? More likely it will just get to Northwest Mini and then I will have to wait for the other.

My MA is off today and Friday but he said he would update me as soon as he knows something.

Just like the military eh? Hurry up and wait.

I keep forgetting that it is a whole different animal for people on the West coast.. anxious to hear what you all find out in the next few days.

Mine should be finished production today. Started production on the 27th, estimated completion date today. Might just make that boat out on the 9th.

They had to wait to build mine since I ordered the DTC/ELDC Technically the part wasn't available till the 1st of Dec, but it looks like they pushed the order through a little early.


Does anyone know when they stopped taking orders for the Dec 7th Shutdown?

Lucky you though, your east coast so will have yours at least 2 weeks before I get mine!

 

I just placed an order on Sunday for a Clubman with the Sport Package. My car just moved from On Order to Scheduled for Production according to the OL. And when I called the automated ask MINI line it says my Production Date is 7 January.

(Does that make mine a Week 1 Order? Is there a support group for Calendar Year 2009 orders yet?)

I just put up my Signature, so that has my Build details in it. Hoping it will be done today. Joined the DTC thread too. That's going to be a lot of fun in the snow! Maybe if I get knobby snow treads for it, I won't miss the full size Chevy 4x4 Pickup I had on the snowy days!

Just realized it couldn't be as Galveston is not one of the ports for MINI deliveries.
The Ports of Call for MINI deliveries and their shipping companies are:
-Halifax, Nova Scotia (Port Loc = ?) : WW, ~6 days for transport
-New York City, NY (Port Loc = NYCPOA) : WW, ~8 days for transport (truly based in Jersey City, NJ)
-Charleston, SC (Port Loc = CHSPOA) : WW and K-Line, ~15 days on WW, ~13 days on K-Line
-Brunswick, GA (Port Loc = SSIPOA) : WW, ~17 days for transport (thanks to Bandit for the Loc Code!)
-Manzanillo, a.k.a. Panama Canal (Point of reference only) : WW, ~13 days
-Port Hueneme, CA (Port Loc = PHMPOA): WW, ~21 days for transport (thanks krim)

 

I am expecting my new Mini to arrive in Brunswick, GA on Dec 23, hopefully in time for a South Florida delivery by New Years. I just added details in my Signature

Ha... nevermind... answered my own question by your 2 posts above. I didn't realize you posted before because you added the new sig

 

I was hoping to make the Undine, but no luck. Must have just missed the cutoff. One extra week isn't too bad, considering when I first ordered, my MA said it wouldn't be built until next year because of the factory closing in December.

 

My internet went out, so here is a quick update on mine:

28 Novemer 08 - finished production and shipped to Germany
01 December 08 - Arrival in country

Not sure if she has made it to the dealership yet, going to go by tomorrow and have a look see

Congrats! Where is that? I was told all of them coming to Germany went through Mannheim but maybe it was just for Bavaria Motor cars.. I went by there today on the way to the shooting range and they couldn't tell me if it arrived but told me all that did arrive were in one of 2 warehouses in Mannheim. (at least mine is not out in the cold tonight!)
