Congrats; it looks great! Did you get run-flats or all-season tires? After reading all the different threads concerning ride quality and wear, I asked for all-season tires with the Sport package; am curious to hear who chose what, why and what your experience is.

 

I got the runflats, you can't get all-season with the web spokes.... There is a decent amount of road noise, but its not that bad. Can't say much about the quality, again not so bad, but I am still treating her with kid gloves and not trying to do anything to crazy. Eventually when I save up some more money to buy some new tires and rims.

Oh, and the comments I have read about the runflats.. Bah Humbug.. They are quiet enough on the autobahn at 80mph to hear the woosh of another car pass you. Donkey is a very pleasantly quiet. But I want to push the peddle down soo bad!

So, how much gas did you have on delivery David? Did you put your hood scoop on?

So my baby lasted a whole 72 hours stock and, she already needs a bath stupid Germans, can't wash cars on a Sunday

Oh my the bahn makes them soo Dirty! Trip to Ktown today left the back window nasty! I got him with 3/4s of a tank I guess they were trying to make it up to me a little. Bottle of Sekt was pretty good too!
Scoop is on since last night about 10 PM (took about 5 minutes including looking for a screw so no one could steal it)
I will get some pics after he gets his 1st bath.. Since he is a donkey, flea shampoo ok?

I kid, I kid.
On a side note I learned how to adjust the windshield washer jets today, you only need a needle or something similar.

 

Ok here is a pick with the scoop, I cannot believe how bad the pics seem from my camera.. 4MP should be much cleaner than this..
I am so pleased with the color combo I ordered.
I was planning on blacking out the trim but it look so nice on the Dark Silver/white.

Looking good. Guess you weren't getting run over on the autobahn if you could do 80.
Interesting on the tires; my concerns were road noise and short lifespan. Be curious to hear your experiences.

OEM, part number 52 16 0 416 589. Minimania carries them as well, but are a bit over priced http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/G2.../InvDetail.cfm. I paid 100 euro for it from the German Mini dealer.

Thanks;100 euro is better that the $250 they wanted here for the factory installation. Will check with the dealers around here and see if they have or can get it.

It's been a while but made the crew bus ride between Frankfurt and Ramstein any number of times; our coach was passed regularly like we were standing still.

 

We'll my car is finally showing as loaded on the vessel. It's due to depart today and scheduled to arrive January 4th in California.

My wife's car is already on the boat and scheduled to arrive in California on December 22nd. Looks like we will be having 2 deliveries in early January rather than 1.

I feel like this journey is finally going to come to an end!!

I can't wait.

219 miles on him now, 981 to go till he reaches break in! Oh so hard to control myself. I did need to step on it once today (didn't want to but a car came up hard behind me) Donkey laughed and bolted like a glowing hot brand was on the way!

 

I think I found a name for my girl..... How does Andraste sound? She is a Celtic warrior goddess of victory.

 

Well the last of the Week 49's just set sail on the TRAVIATA, should port in Californication on Jan 4th!
