Week 49 support group
The Map I was showing is from Vessel Tracker, at least that's what it was showing for a location in the morning.
If you Google Earth that berth, you can clearly make out the cars parked out on the lot. The Mini's parked in the lot really stick out!
The Maersk Wind may have been delayed departure due to weather. It's usually a good idea to be in a port during a storm. I hear Mini's don't swim too well.

Good God, I've been searching for this thread for two weeks. I didn't know what week my car was. Anywho... just thought I'd say hey!
The Maersk Wind should dock tomorrow! Does anyone know how long it takes to get through the VPC? I know it's located right there in Brunswick. This is the first time I've gone through the build process (well, part of it at least).

It very much is, part of reason I decided to get her now instead of waiting til I moved back to the states.
I've had her up to 131 now, and she's still ready for more.... I love this car!!!
Donkey is no officially broken in! Oh and he is fast!
The boost seems to fizzle out around 115 mph (all of this was done on the autobahn so it was completely legal) but he continues to increase speed and rpm's (I learned today that my Navigon 5110 will not read over 131MPH though. I was focused on the GPS and hit 131 and it stayed there thinking that I had reached the aerodynamic limitation I glanced over at the speedo and it was over 140MPH and still gradually climbing! My sppedo reads about 3-4 mph fast so i think I accomplished 140 today as it was! Donkey purrs like it was nothing!
GO MINI!

Owners lounge shows at the Dealer now, so it may be between the VDC and the dealer. I can't pick it up this weekend anyway if it were ready. I need to get transit plates at the DMV, and the dealer says it takes 2 days to get the title.
I did get the "Mind Meld" with your Mini e-mail yesterday. Does anyone know it this is triggered when the car is still at the VDC, when it gets on the trailer, or arrives at the dealer?
Thanks!

I'm a posting virgin, so be kind. For those whose minis arrived on the Carmen, just got an email saying that my car arrived at the dealer on Christmas Eve, and that I can pick it up at Mini of Mountain View on Monday. Now comes the hard part, picking a name for baby.

My wifes car is on the Carmen and I just received an email from our MA. Her car will be ready to pick on Tuesday or Wednesday. My car is still about 2 weeks or so away. Oh well. We will have 1 down and 1 to go shortly.

Well hope all of you that have received your cars are doing better than Donkey and those of you have not received yours will be fine. Donkey is officially by BMW to have the transmission removed and find out why it is leaking. I now have a Justacooper for a loaner and really miss the boost..
At first I though he was trying to mark his territory but the spots started to get bigger. :(

Sorry to hear you are having problems David. Did you get the Manual or Auto Transmission? I'm assuming manual, if that's the case it would be a rare leak indeed!
I picked up my Transit plates today because I got a call that my MINI will be ready for pickup tomorrow morning!
I was beginning to worry since it has been in country for almost 2 weeks, and out of the VDC for an entire week. (Holiday Schedule)
Once Home it will need to sit in the garage till I get real plates for it on Friday.
Has anyone else who was on the Maersk Wind picked theirs up yet?

Yes, it is the manual. BMW said it may be done Friday. I hope so. I wonder if they will be putting a fresh clutch in as well?
I really couldn't ask for a better service though. I started with a loaner cooper and now have a loaner 118d. They are trying very hard to keep me happy.

nsarchett and PatM,
We all have our cars on the Traviata, but we have even more in common...
PatM,
I use to spend my childhood summers (late 60's, early 70's) at my fathers house in Wilkeson/Carbonado and spent many a day inner-tubing on the Carbon River...
nsarchett,
I use to live in The Greenhaven area of South Sac in the mid 80's and worked at Ardenfair Mall...
Coincidence? I don't believe in it!
