Week 49 support group
Picked up my MINI at the Dealership in Peabody MA, right smack dab in the middle of a Nor'Easter. It's a 90 or so mile drive one way and a good portion of the drive we could go no faster than 35mph. The drive down was in my wife's Rav4 AWD.
The drive back was equally as slow. I can say that the car brakes extremely well in bad weather. Driving with the DTC activated and the all seasons it came with was a joy. I probably won't ever drive it in worse weather, but I might put some studded snows on just in case I need to.
Windshield icing was a severe problem. Not just for me though, there were cars pulled over under each overpass and more chiseling ice off and freeing stuck wiperblades. So why is it that windshield heaters are only a Canadian option? I'd have gladly paid for the option, I did after all, spring for the Cold Weather package.
It would also be nice if the iPod adapter came with the High Fi package- even if it added a little. The iPhone has a slick interface though. the only thing I'm really missing is navigation through the head unit- not enough justification in my mind for the added expense.

Congrats! What a test right off the lot! Can't wait to see some non snow pics. I was a little upset about the missing cable also when I picked up mine. You would think that comfort IPOD/bluetooth prep would be prepped for plug and play, No?
Congrats on picking yours up! Did you try the DTC in the snow?
BTW, mine was on the Maersk Wind and I picked it up on the 29th.
Yeah, considering I have runflats, I was surprised that I got the full tool kit AND a spare!
I guess it's because it's a Cooper, but I was still surprised.

I used a loan draft from PenFed, and I had to deliver the payment so that it would have 10 days to clear before delivery. This way, I avoided a "backup" contract/financing.
Congratulations blainestang - curious about the toolkit because I'm also getting a Cooper upgraded to runflats - does yours include the air compressor mentioned in the owner's manual? Thanks, Tim
I get it thanks!
I finally got to pick up Sloopy this morning,, she is a real sweetheart and oh, BTW- I got a jack also. I was able to get the bluetooth working through my radio, the Nuvi Garmin with the little mini car on the screen is totally over the top! And did I mention that she handles really nicely??
I believe I got the "non-RF" tool kit. Maybe I should ask my dealer for the RF version, too
We picked up our baby last night... I'll post more of the boring, yet helpful details at a later date (specifically regarding the purchase process from ordering to receipt of delivery).
3...2...1 vroooom!!! I missed the warning that said to hang on when you stepped on the gas.
Here's a picture of the beast.

I have had my car for about 3 weeks now, and have almost 1,000 miles on it. I haven't posted pictures yet; too busy driving it I guess. But I will post some soon. I am getting some side stripes installed soon, I might wait to post pictures until after that.
Thanks!

Not sure where I went wrong. Any advice?
I have the Nuvi 755T that I just got for Christmas.
Thanks!
If you're looking to do something fancy... I'm of no help

Looks great!
Thanks, Blainestang! I tried again and got the electric blue one also. It looks pretty close on the Nuvi screen! I chose the one with the sunroof and bonnet stripes.
I think the first time I downloaded I only grabbed the add-ons.

Glad you got it to work!
I have been notified by my MA that my week 49 MINI, Sliver, will be ready for pickup on the 16th. I'll fly down for pickup on the 16th, drive to Seattle to pick up my race wheels and Hoosier A6's on the 17th and then my Trek over the mountain home on the 18th. May the weather Gods look down on me in favor!!!
