Congrats! Welcome to Wk 49

 

Thanks... hopefully all our cars actually get built that week (or before).

 

Alrighty.... Looks like I am officially week 49 , got an email from my MA today saying that. But, I am going to go in person and see it on the computer to confirm.

 

My MA assured me that the 49's will still be built and expected delivery (us in Germany) will still be Wk 51 despite the production shutdown. WOOT! looks like a Christmas delivery!

I was kind of worried about wk 49 getting squeezed out completely, the DTC being pushed back, or the cars not being delivered even if produced.

 

YipEEE!!! I can't wait.... Although, most of wait is over for us, thank goodness.

I was told by my MA that I'm week 49. He said expected delivery end of December, first week of January latest. My order is below:

I said this in the week 48 one too but since I am only 1 week ahead of you guys I figured that I will might as well share:

I got my VIN Number today and my MCS has been scheduled for 11/25/08. 1 week away!

I am getting impatient... I emailed my MA today and still nothing. :( I will let you know though!

 

Yipeeee!!!!! I got a code 150 and a VIN today Don't know how that happened, checked yesterday and it was only a 112. I couldn't be happier.... I plan emailing my MA once a day till she gets here

Seems pretty soon for a Week 49! I wonder if you got bumped up? I mean, it's a full week and a half before "Week 49".

 

I don't know; I didn't think I could get bumped up considering that I have ordered the sports package and midnight black...... Although, thinking about it, it may be because I have a priority on it

 

Well, my MA told me that due to the earlier Christmas-time plant closing (Dec 7), our MINI could possibly be moved up a little bit because they're trying to make sure they get as many cars through before the break as possible.

I asked in the "Wk 48" thread if any of them had ordered the Sport Package to see if any SP cars had been moved up, but I don't think anyone has replied yet.

So anyway, it does seem like this is the case... that they are moving cars up to get as many cars as possible through to production. I mean, if your car is starting production now, I think it's pretty clear they're not waiting until the first week of December to build cars with the sport package... and that's good news, IMO.

I'm sure that you will catch up.... I can see if my MA can pull your car on his system; considering its the big MINI system.

 

Anything yet David???? I checked with my MA and he couldn't pull your order sorry. I really hope you hear something soon, I feel for you.

Although, even though I have a VIN my order still says week 49 production, but it also says that I have a week 50 delivery instead of 51

I also got my grill, driving lights and black grill surrounds today and I ordered the euro armrest and the glovebox organizer from the German Dealer as well . They should be here by the time I get back from my vacation. I did go ahead and buy a slightly used JCW carbon hood scoop for $200; I'll see if I like it. And I got the JCW inserts and carriers for 50 pounds brand new, while I was at it I went ahead and ordered black out tape and tint for the side repeaters. Guess I went on a parts binge now that delivery has gotten a lot closer than it used to be.

So, when do you guys think that conception should actually be; when the VIN is assigned, or when the car actually goes into production???

I order it on July and he said I would have it in September.
He failed to mention that the Sports package was delayed till Dec. Now you ordered after me and have you vin already..

Ha... my dealer did the same thing.

We ordered on Nov. 1, and they said the car would begin production Nov. 3-4, the first or second business day after that.

Then, on the 3rd, they called about the Sport Package delay... which I remembered as soon as they said it.... but for some reason it had been removed from the website.

 

We moved to waaf today, but I am on vacation in the states till the first week of December..... Sounds groovy about having shop time at lunch The dealer ship wants 200 euro to install the lights, I am thinking about letting them considering I found out recently that to get them to work correctly they have to be wired into the OBC. We will see.

 

OK so I started week 49 and then was bumped up to week 48 then Monday I got a VIN and went to code 150. Today I went to code 151 Body Shop and then to code 152 Paint Shop. So it looks like they are trying to get everyone does as soon as they can.
I am checking my progress every few hours. One of the perks of working for a BMW/MINI dealership is being able to obsessively check the progress of your car without driving your MA insane.
