I know there are several of us out there that ordered the Sport Package w/ Dynamic Traction Control on our '09's and have had their cars delayed in order to wait until "the first week of December" for cars with DTC to be built.

So, who else has an '09 Sport Package w/ Dynamic Traction Control on order?

Anybody have a car already in production?

Also, please note what model your car is (MC or MCS) as well as your week of production.


If I didn't want the DTC, I could have skipped the Sport Package and maybe even had the car by now, but we decided to wait an extra month or so and get the MINI we really wanted

So, who else is waiting for a Sport Package w/ DTC MINI?

 

I'm waiting for a MCS with the Sport Package (DTC). I called ASK MINI today and they said week 49. Don't have a set date or VIN on OL yet.

 

I think "lilliux" has a Midnight Black Week 49 MCS that was officially "in production" yesterday, so you could be soon.

Our '09 Sport Package Oxygen Blue MC (Week 49) is IN PRODUCTION as of 9:29am this morning!

So, more indication that other Week 49 cars should be "in production" or be there soon!

I also am waiting. Mine is a MCS with the sports package.
If you all are lucky you will be Week 49. If not then you will have to wait the additional 30 days...

lilliux has a production number about 200 after mine so I am thinking positive.

 

Is there some sort of "chronological order" to Production Numbers?... and if there is, is it strict?

If so, I'd be interested to compare mine to you and lilliux's numbers.

BTW, is your production number something to be guarded? Obviously, it's not a SSN, but would it be unwise to post it publicly? I suppose someone could join the OL with it or call ASK MINI and change the contact info for your car with it, so I guess you wouldn't want just ANYONE to have it.

 

Well since I am overseas and my order is factory direct the Owner's Lounge does not work for me. My last 3 are 289, don't know if that helps you.

 

Well, based on the last 3 numbers only, I'm either ~400 ahead of you or ~600 behind.

I wonder if anybody has ever actually confirmed a correlation between production number and production order/schedule?

I didn't do the Sport Package, but I did order DTC, Sport Suspension and LSD so I believe I'm a fellow week #49 DTC Guinea pig!

Sounds like a purpose-built car!

I considered simply purchasing the DTC w/o the sport package, too, but the sport package has different items on the Cooper than the S, including Fog lights and sport seats... and so I figured that for $400 more than the DTC/Fogs/Seats/Stripes ($1100 a la carte) that I was planning to get, I might as well get the spoiler and nicer 16" Bridge-spokes.


BTW, my wife just called because she just talked to ASK MINI...

Our MINI is on it's way to the port as of Yesterday (Nov. 30)!

Now, time to figure out what boat it's getting on!

Also, a general update on our Sport Package (DTC) Cooper:

It boarded the Undine yesterday and it should therefore land in Georgia on the 17th.

Hopefully the VDC and Ferman MINI can make quick (but quality) work of prepping our MINI and get it to us in time for it to be parked under our Christmas Tree.

So the birthing process is done, now it's the storks turn!

 

hehe, it is nice being near England, Mine is somewhere between England and it's destination here in Germany. I will call tomorrow to see if it has arrived (the main distro center is here in my town for the military sales) WOO HOO!
Mine was also ordered with Sports package and LSD. Looks like I will have a chance to use it too as it has been snowy in the last week!

Let us know how it works. We don't get much snow here in FL, but road trips may result in some snow for the MINI.

 

Exactly, setup some cones and do a MINI AutoX (pun intended) and tell me if the eLDC keeps that inside tire from spinning!!!

Spinning the inside tire shouldn't be AS big of a problem w/ my "regular" Cooper, but I figured it couldn't hurt to have the ELSD.

 

I ordered the DTC without the Sport package. I'm in Maine so the decision for the DTC was more of a traction aide rather than a handling/speed thing. The NEXT Cooper I get will be an S, then I will go for the sport package.

Obviously, there are many, many MINI's being produced that aren't on this site, but yours is only the 2nd DTC-equipped Week 49 Cooper (non-S) I know of.

 

Hindsight- I wish I'd got the Sports Pkg, but I was trying to keep the price down a little. $500 for ELDC YES. $250 for an armrest NO.
