My MA appears to be wrong about my shipping delay. OL shows that it's at the distribution center, and since it lags by a few days, I'll assume I came in on the 12th per the original schedule.

Too much reverse engineering. I'll call my sales manager on Monday...

My mini didn't end up arriving on Friday, and I still haven't heard from the dealer today I hope nothing happened to my Mini, and that it ends up arriving today.

 

Well, that's a lot better news.... My MA was talking about a rough estimate of when it's getting to the dealership, NOT off the ship.

So I'm still on schedule, pending no truck breakdown or anything. I may see delivery this week!

Finally got some more information from an MA than I could get online....

My Clubman is at the VDC. He thinks it may have been pulled aside for QC, or just slower moving on because they're installing my sport stripes at the VDC.

In any case, the system says it's scheduled to be released to the carrier on the 20th. He said it usually takes a day to get here, but the dealership's closed on Sunday, so maybe Monday the 23rd.

Looks like I should be able to take delivery before our vacation on the 28th, which was the news I really wanted to hear.

ps Mini accessory pre-purchase: I use very few cell minutes, so I've just had Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go for a while now, and it works great for me. Just bought a new Flare phone, so I can sync with the in-car Bluetooth. Now I just have to get it figured out in the next week...

Just spoke with my MA and he said that our MINI is lost in the VDC black hole. They have 18 other MINIs that are waiting to be delivered too.. I'm sure one of them is Joep's. Most likely will see them later this week!

I'm going to drive over there on my lunch break in about 30mins. I have a feeling it might have been sent over to the BMW dealer across the street to get the mirror caps put on before delivery. This weekend when I drove through the dealer lot to see if it had been dropped off, I realised they dont have a mechanic on the spot... so it could be she's here already I'm going to go investigate

Almost a week at the VDC. My car was not shipped to the dealer as hoped for this last Saturday.

Wish they would speed it up.....!!!

Just spoke to our MA and he told us our MINI is scheduled for transported and might get there on Thursday. Our D-day is hopefully Friday!

Hey guys...

We just got back from going to Tyler's graduation. Sunday was a great day. I had the greatest Father's Day - I got to spend a day with my children, tyler's graduation and had my wife sit next to my ex- while we had lunch (give me a root canal without novicane)....

The drive home was excellent. When we got onto I-95 I had my heart stop - out of total excitement. Came over a hill and there was a HC/S and LB/S Clubman. they were flying down the interstate. then when we got to Savannah there was a convoy of about 10-12 MINIs heading north. All of these cars must have been heading back from MTTS. I was so excited.

Now to the important stuff. Lady G - woohoo..... She's a beaut!!!! I tried to sneak to the dealership but I was told "NO" by my wife .... To everyone who has their car coming soon (or not so soon b/c mine appears to be still at the distribution center) congrats!!!!

I'm exhausted - 8+ hours in an Odyssey. So I'm off to bed. I'll be back out in the A.M.

BTW, Reyd... Have you heard anything from Downtown MINI?

Yep, 216 miles in and I've already gotten a flat. Must have picked the nail up in the grocery store parking lot, as it was in the driver's rear tire on the corner of the tread. Unrepairable. Discovered it this morning as I was leaving for work (the display let me know), so put air in the tire and drove to the nearest tire store (Firestone). The all season Continental tire is not in stock anywhere in western Massachusetts, but they could get one for tomorrow @ $240 installed. Mini dealer had one in stock, but quoted nearly $350, installed. Yikes! Waiting on tomorrow...

 

Oh NO! Do you have to replace ALL the tires, or just that one? On my Subie, I had to replace all the tires when I got a flat because of the different wear...buuuut I guess that could have been b/c it was AWD. Good luck!!!
