We almost didn't make it back from lunch!

Nearly 900 miles on Mags so far. The more I drive, the more I appreciate these great cars.
I've had the same problem getting back to work after lunch!

This car is amazing. It took me a bit to get used to the tight steering on this boy, and I figured out why yesterday when I had to drive my old van. That thing is loosey goosey! I can turn the wheel an 1/8+ turn with absolutely no response. I am taking it to the shop tommorrow to have the front end looked at. I can't believe I was driving that thing every day like that. It scared the crap out of me. Unfortunately, I have to take the van on vacation since we won't all fit in the MINI. I don't know if I can take it.

Thanks proximal and krim..

I feel better now. I just need to wait a few more hours! *I hope! I hope! I hope!!* I just needed to really vent out my frustrations. On the bright side, he's already here.

I'm trying not to sweat the small stuff.

=> proximal, congrats! Loooove the leather seats!
=> hey krim, don't you think yuko will get a little jealous if you divert your attention somewhere else?

Hopefully I will have some better pics tomorrow...Out to the garage now for a wash and to start the Zaino process. It may be an all nighter.

On a side note the first Mini I saw on the way home saw me in his rear view and slowed down to give me a wave. Looked like justacooper with a full rollcage inside and the license plate "UK SUV". Love it.

I finally got some photos up!

Hello everyone!

Congratulations to all those who have taken delivery and to those who are having issues, well.... hang in there, it'll all be behind you soon and you'll be happily motoring in your new MINIs.

I finallly got around to posting some pics of Lilli. We went to the NC mountains for July 4th and of course we had to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway so that's where most of the photos were taken. I didn't put them in the NAM gallery because I have my own website so here they are:

http://www.empyrial.com/mini/

So far the only mods/extras I've done is apply visor stickers from Aesthetic Creations but floormats, a badge holder (for the W23 badge!), mudflaps, glovebox tidy are on my list. I'm also going to order one of the 'bundles' from DP next week. I'm sure the dealer's 'wax' will be gone by the time I receive my DP order; only had the car two weeks and I've already washed it three times!

I like the stripes on PeeWee. How much did they charge you for that? I would have like the viper stripes but didn't want to pay extra for them since the bonnet stripes came with the sport package....

Oh and Sparky looks great! Just make sure to keep those wheels white! I've noticed the brake dust is super heavy on these Minis.

and if nobody picked up on DChap's comment go back and it read it....hysterical.

I picked my Mini up yesterday! I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!! Drove home from KC and I have never had this much fun in a car! I also got my first Mini headlight flash, so if the blue and white Mini that flashed their lights to the AB/W heading west on I-70 reads this, thanks for the initiation.

the brake dust was ridiculous, i drove 18 miles home and my rims were dirtier than the sod i park on.

as for DC's comment, i was going to make the same, but i decided against it.

i've had Al little over two weeks and have washed the wheels 3 times already. It is crazyness.

Oh yes, and be careful. The Fuel gauge misreads like a champ. It indicated that I had half a tank of gas today. When I filled up, the car took 10.7 gallons. hmmmm

I'm so jealous of all of you...

I finally have made the journey from Philadelphia PA to Seattle WA.

Called my MA today, and the car is in, and will be ready for pickup in a few days. He's going to call me tomorrow with more details.

I want to pull my wheels off and give them a good carnuba waxing, but I don't have flat ground to pull off the wheels. I guess I might just have to settle for doing just the spokes, and not the insides too... Maybe I'll just pay for parking in a parking garage overnight and do it at like 2am so I don't get bugged for working on my car.

That first "flower petal" still hangs on for the first 150 miles for me, but 1300 miles in I've noticed a big improvement in the gas guage readings. Mabye our little MINIs just need to learn how thirsty they are?

uh yeah, you know that whole break in 4300/85 thing... yeah, 50 miles and it's already out the door. took my nephews and my bro (and sis and dad) around the block, showed them the steptronic and went up to 5500 a few times shifting late out of third.
