Week 23 2008 Support Group

Week 23 production numbers are out. Milestone achieved. Now the wait gets serious.

Who else is beginning the count down?

SPF ZERO 04-29-2008 02:13 PM

Ooo, Oooo, Me, I am!!

We got word last week that we are in week 23 (still showing "on order" as our status online). Gonna be a long month while we wait...

ahfs1 04-29-2008 03:06 PM

I was week 19 and got bumped up to 17, (as it seems just about everyone else from the week did too!) It wasn't until this past weekend the status changed on the OL to scheduled. Looking backward, it doesn't seem like it's been forever, but looking forward it seems like it is taking forever!!!
Congratulations on ordering! Hopefully it goes quick for you. :)

lohrm1 04-30-2008 04:37 AM

Week 23 here too. Hopefully it gets moved up!

I just found out now that I'm in Week 23. It's going to be a LOOOONG month. But, I hear that it's the best possible week for a MINI to be built. All of the fastest, coolest looking minis will be built in week 23 ;)

Ohhh I like the way you think!!! I had "problems" with my Cooper S that I no longer own and I am confident that my new Clubman on order will be PERFECT and "problem" free!!! :)

You know, there is a lot to like about the number 23:
  • The number has been the subject of not one but two films: the 1998 German movie, 23, and The Number 23, starring Jim Carrey.
  • John Forbes Nash, the Nobel Prize-winning economist who was the subject of the film, A Beautiful Mind, starring Russell Crowe, was obsessed with 23.
  • The Ancient Chinese believed numbers conveyed sexuality - evens for feminine and odds for masculine. They considered prime numbers to be the most masculine, conferring special status on 23 which is made up of two consecutive prime numbers and the only even prime number - two.
  • Michael Jordan and David Beckham both wore 23.
  • Each parent contributes 23 chromosomes to the start of human life. The nuclei of cells in human bodies have 46 chromosomes made out of 23 pairs.
  • The average human physical biorhythm is 23 days.
Of course, I also like to play Blackjack, so if we got moved to week 21 I'd still be happy!

all good points!

I hope we dont get moved though because my pickup week (hopefully!) is between two vacations! I would come home for a day just to pick up my car though if it came down to it! :)

I'm just glad we have our own support group now so we can go crazy with people who feel our pain!

With Production in week 23 (June 2-6), when are people expecting delivery?

I was told Mid July.

SeattleClubmanS 05-01-2008 08:54 AM

I was told from 866-ASKMINI that my car should be complete June 2nd and then it's a 4 week trip across the ocean and then 1 week for Port Inspections and then another week to get to my MA (Northwest MINI in Tacoma, WA) --- So if all goes well pickup should be the last week of July!

Euseys 05-01-2008 09:37 AM

Hi all,
We're slated for week 23 as well, but it might be Sept. before we see our new MCS. We went thru Pentagon Car Sales, which is set up with BMW Germany for military stationed overseas.
Nice to be here, looking forward to joining the "Lightning Blue and Black" club.

I have no clue... How do I find out? My build sheet says "Port Location: PHMPOA". Does that stand for Port Hueneme?

Denver comes in through Port Hueneme, so we may be on the same boat (before Wellie gets on a long truck ride to the Rocky Mountains).

lohrm1 05-01-2008 06:50 PM

No clue on mine. Where do you find the info? I'm in Michigan so somewhere on the east coast...

Euseys 05-02-2008 02:44 PM

Hi all,
We're in Naples italy, buying thru BMW Italy, so we cannot comment accurately on deliveries in CA, but, we were also told Week 23 should deliver around July- But, because our girl is coming south thru England,Germany then Italy it might be September 04 2008 before we're mini owners! Nail biting! So, think of us while you're cruising in August!!! LOL

Mozza 05-02-2008 09:05 PM

Just saw this, another week 23er here. It's way too long a wait isn't it?

OWG 05-03-2008 04:22 AM

Way too long, but there are some (not this build week) who waited as much as nine months.... Now that is dedication!

Mozza 05-03-2008 04:37 PM

9 months? How on earth did that happen?
