Congrats -- Yours is the first factory JCW I've seen delivered. Mine should be at the dealer -- but my MA is out and the semi hadn't arrived as of 11AM.

Yep I was expecting mine today too but after a morning spent playing tag my MA called and said my car wasn't on the truck today. He then went and called the VDC who told him it would be on tomorrow's (Tuesday) truck. He said the truck is usually there by 10 and I'm not getting anything installed so my fiance and I are going to head up around 5 and get it! .

Almost there...

Well, it is the "Night Before Christmas" for me -- I'm off to the dealer tomorrow at 10:30 am to take delivery. There's only a few of us West Coast stragglers left - just about everyone else on the list already has their wings!

It's quite the amazing journey that everyone here has had. Sadly, there has been some bumps along the way for a few. But eagerly waiting for the someone's gleeful post of "She/He's Home!" kept us all coming back for more.

What a strange coincidence that such a prolific group of posters would all place their orders around the same time and wind up in a group that will be recorded in NAM history as "Week 23 '08".

Cheers to all, and I'll hopefully be back tomorrow with some "newborn" pictures of my own. G'nite!

I'm scheduled for picking up this Wednesday evening!! I went down to the BMW regional backlot near Boston on Saturday after the delivery truck arrived to make sure the hood repairs that held her up at the VDC were OK. They must have replaced the entire hood at the VDC, since I can't find any dimples or other evidence. And she was the only Clubman in two big shipments of Minis in the backlot - must have been awkward for her!

I've decided to forego the Invisishield option at the dealer -- $700 was too much for covering just the 18" of hood and lower front panels. Maybe I'll go for an aftermarket option -- or just not drive in the winter!

Here's a pic of her at the pre-prep stage in the backlot -- it doesn't count yet as delivery, so no wings yet!

Mozza,
You are only honorary if that is how you want to be - I have you rostered as one of us.

Thanks! We debated the Tuscan Beige, but the challenge of maintaining it with a 5 year old in the back was too daunting.

The brown is nice, it's looks reminds me of the the upholstery in our old Minor, but much more comfortable.

My MINI is supposed to arrive at the dealer today. Now the pacing begins!

It is really nice to see photos of the ones delivered to their owners. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

blackjack side scuttle

Here's the aforementioned promised pic of the blackjack side scuttle on Waldo. I just HAD to have it when I saw it in the configurator (see my screen name!), and I got the dealer to include it at no charge as part of my negotiation. Couldn't find anyone with a pic posted when I was looking, so hopefully this will help a fellow NAMer!

So things haven't exactly gone to plan. Despite my car being at the VDC now for 2 weeks they neglected to install my aero kit for some reason and that's the reason I haven't taken delivery yet. It looks like it's going to be Thursday now. Very frustrated and angry as you can imagine.

As mean as it sounds, I have to admit my first reaction to your post was to laugh. Laugh because it is so ridiculous! Where I work all the problems reported in this thread would mean at least one if not more people would have had their heads roll for such lapses. Who would have thought to look and see if someone who ordered an '09 JCW had also ordered a JCW aero kit before putting it on the truck? How does a 36- or 50- or 25- or whatever-point inspection miss the itemized order checklist? Hold out for the extended warranty free! Then see who is laughing.

Thanks for the sympathy zoned but the problem wasn't that they put it on the truck without the JCW Aero installed it's that they never put it on a truck at all BECAUSE they hadn't bothered to install it despite my car sitting there for two weeks and that was the only thing needed doing. It's a simple matter of laziness and incompetence,

VDC Tech: "Hey boss, doesn't this car get the JCW Aero?"

Supervisor: "Ah don't worry about it, that car doesn't go out for another 2 weeks."

2 WEEKS LATER

VDC Tech: "Hey boss this JCW can go on a truck right?"

Supervisor: "Yeah let's get it ou....oh damn we were supposed to put the JCW Aero on that."

It's simply not acceptable but I'll be honest I'm not going to give my MA and dealer a hard time about it as I have the MA everybody wishes they had and he's been nothing but helpful throughout the entire process.

I finally have an appointment to pick mine up on Saturday July 19 @ 12:30 PM. I am going to be up at 6 and pace around the house until I wear the finish off of the floor. What a long morning that is going to be. I will have to limit myself to one or 2 cups of coffee.

yeah, so i was driving to work this morning, and as usually, there's barely any traffic at 6 in the morning. Well, i get past a wolf pack going 60, and finally can get going and before i know it, i'm zooming past everyone. Very strange feeling, because i try not to be the rabbit and follow everyone's speed. Anyhoo, i look down at the tach, and i'm at 105 and climbing.

I let off the gas and drop back down to blend in with traffic at a leisurely 75.

It's going to be a bit dangerous for me until i get used to the turbo, since i have to keep looking over/down and check my speed instead of paying attention to the road.

what was the recommended break in speed again? Oh well, that unintentionally went out the window this morning whatever it was. I do have to say that a MBZ was keeping pace with me, which is why i probably didn't notice.

Congrats to the people who are getting cars soon.

OWG I agree that the choc leather looks lovely. BlackJack side scuttles look sweet also.

I want to get the regular Union Jack scuttles and get a Union Jack flag on the roof to match.

Finally home!!

Another Week 23 journey is completed :

And I just had to post this one too: note all of the toggles filled in PLUS the left-most black button *does something*!! (electric heated windscreen - one the advantages of ordering in Canada ).
